"We’re still kind of on the high of celebrating our 400th episode, which is a landmark achievement in the entire history of television," says ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich when asked if he sees Grey's ending anytime soon. "The show with Shonda and Krista at the helm continues to be incredibly relevant, incredibly entertaining. There’s still a massive, loyal fan base that comes to Thursday nights for both Station 19 and Grey’s, and we’re just thrilled to have the show on our air."

When you take a drama show and make a huge hit it usually means that it will be successful and make huge household names out of the celebrities that star in the series. When you get the general picture in TV medical dramas have been hits and when ABC launched Grey's Anatomy in 2005 ABC knew this was the show that become a monster hit for years. Because after NBC ended ER ABC wanted to have a medical drama that could easily fit in with other medical dramas like NBC's St. Elsewhere which debuted in 1982 and ended in 1988 and so Grey's Anatomy fit that style of medical drama that people really liked. And it jumpstarted the career of Patrick Dempsey to move him from movie actor to TV actor because prior to Grey's Anatomy he was in the 1987 movie Can't Buy Me Love and when Patrick was cast as Dr. Derek Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy it really made the show's ratings plummet and soon Patrick Dempsey became a successful movie actor in movies like Enchanted and Maid Of Honor. Another actress that became a household name was Katherine Heigl who starred in the movie 27 Dresses and she is a rising star in movies. But I think when Patrick Dempsey left Grey's Anatomy the show started going downhill because without Patrick Grey's Anatomy just wasn't the same because to me just like NBC's St. Elsewhere had Howie Mandel playing Dr. Wayne Fiscus Patrick Dempsey was the Howie Mandel of Grey's Anatomy. I only started liking Grey's Anatomy because my aunt and I were both crazy about Patrick Dempsey and I thought he was cute. But when I watched Grey's Anatomy on DVD there were a few things I found odd like why did they decide to put Dr. Bailey's baby Tuck into the show? Because just like with sitcoms when babies are put in to the show the ratings go downhill. But I think Grey's Anatomy will break a record for being the longest running medical drama
