Anybody see the episode where Aunt Bea wears the blonde wig? It was on a few days ago on TVLand. I was in SHOCK - I thought I had seen all the shows but somehow I missed this one. Aunt Bea was a KNOCK-OUT!!! She went from little old granny homemaker to a potential femme fatale. The episode was "Aunt Bea's Crowning Glory" and my she did look glorious!

I haven't caught this one in a long time, looking forward to a refresher.

That's an example of the benefits of a color broadcast. Not one of my favorite episodes, but I will say that Bavier turns in a fine performance.

Yes, the color episodes are sometimes bursting with bright hues.

I thought she looked great and Andy was wrong, wrong, wrong for his disdain about Bee changing her look.

Aunt Bee's Crowning Glory has a lot of Floyd screen time and funny lines. He's always creepily staring at the wig. Really funny Floyd subplot.

I know, what did Andy have against a cooler look for Aunt Bee?

In earlier seasons he'd probably have been more amused at it than his grouchy color episode characterization.
