Now that cook out time is here, how many use charcoal grills using lighter fluid?
My next door neighbor as I sit here must be using his. God, that smell is awful.
We use a chimney and no smell at all. Isn't Lighter fluid an old school method?. I almost want to leave the house. We did tell Bill that a chimney works better but was told he used one and somehow burned his hand. I don't think he wore gloves. I am almost gagging now.

We have a small charcoal grill that we use when our gas grill is out of propane or we take it on camping trips. And we use lighter fluid to light it. Then we wait for the fluid to burn off and the charcoal to turn grey/white before we put the burgers or steak on, so you can't taste or smell the lighter fluid that much. But we mainly use our gas grill.

We haven't used lighter fluid in years. decades. Even having cigarette lighters which used the fluid has gone out of style mainly for people aren't smoking like they use to. I just think there is less smelly way to get the coals going in a charcoal grill. Also gas grills have taken over, although many people like the taste of grilled food on a charcoal grill.
