My two favourite probably are
: The type written notes by Stephen Marfeo, not sure why but maybe the voice over guy who read them made it sound more mysterious.
: The note left at the police station about the apparent death of A.J Breaux by 'Elaine' which eventually came to nothing.

Interesting topic for a thread. I don't know if I have a favorite one. Certainly the letter in the AJ Breaux segment is strange and awful. I think it was a sick prank. I actually watched the segment today, I think the two eyewitnesses that knew him are credible, which means AJ was most likely abducted or got mixed up with the wrong people and was murdered. The fish witness I think is mistaken identity, just like many similar leads have proven to be.
It's not a letter or a note, but "Don/Sean" guy in the Tracey Kirkpatrick segment called in taking responsibility for her murder. Apparently he was also a sick prankster. I think the 'clean house guy" also wrote a note when he left the area initially. I think he killed his wife.

I always wondered, surely the police didn't buy that the notes left at various places which involved mikki jo's death were left by someone associated with the killer. I assume it was a tactic to try and draw the killer out?

I don't know if is my favorite, but when I saw this thread the first thing that popped in my head was the Zodiac's notes.

The notes in the Mikki Jo West case came to my mind while rereading this thread. Also, the letter sent to Maurice Rosenblum regarding his son's disappearance was one I remembered.

The one that always freaked me out was the Jay Cook/Tanya Cuylenburg murderer with the "HALLELUJAH BLOODY JESUS" notes.
Horrifying.

The Circleville Writer is one of my favorites.
The notes in the Mikki Jo West segment and also the mysterious letter that said Judy Himes died of a botched abortion and was dumped in the ocean. Creepy stuff.
The most disturbing was the letters from Nyleen Marshall's supposed kidnapper.
