In the episode "Florida's Favorite Passenger", Larry is one of Florida school bus passenger and he seem to have difficulty hearing things. Allegedly the mother refuses that there is a problem.

I didn't buy the notion that mother didn't know about her son hearing problem, and somebody else (Florida) had to find out and tell her about it. So a stranger know more about the kid than her mother.

I mean the mother know their kids better than anybody else, and if Larry had a hearing problem, she would have found out long before Florida diagnose the problem. So that episode kind of didn't make sense.

I hated this episode. It showed how the show was out of ideas for scripts. I hated the parental neglect shown. I hated that they made it into a 2 part cliff hanger too. It would have been a better show if Larry had fallen into the elevator shaft

The episode was stupid. They tried to make it one of those “serious” episodes, like James had died all over again, when we hadn’t even seen these characters prior to the episode, and it just failed.

The cliff hanger is him waving at everyone with his back to the elevator shaft

Correct me if I'm wrong but an elevator shaft would only be dangerous to someone that was blind, not deaf. People call an elevator and when the doors open you could see there was no elevator. I have never seen anyone call an elevator and walk backwards into it.

Given that some of tenants in that building probably had bad eye sight or blind, it was obvious that open elevator shaft was an accident waiting to happen.

Keith said he is going to kick Bookman's butt after saving Larry, but show didn't followed up on that one :D

A little interjection of reality. If an elevator had no shaft or was out of service, the doors on the floor do not open. Its a sitcom I know but the call button is programmed to open the doors when the car gets to the floor. It would not open simply by pushing the button. When an elevator is not running, the doors will not open for this reason. These projects were built by the city of Chicago and there would be a huge lawsuit if anyone fell inside shaft.

You also have to consider Bookman being building's maintenance supervisor, elevator safety doors not functioning property was no surprise :D

But in reality that would be an extremely dangerous situation given kids probably playing in the hallways near elevators door.

Not really . Publix has an elevator that is often out of service The doors have been WIDE OPEN when it is out of service! But the elevator floor is still there, it just doesn't move.

LOL Did you read what I said? When an elevator is not working, it is locked down let alone not having a shaft and no floor. If you see an elevator with doors open there is something wrong with it.
I dont think you can compare your elevator at Publix to the faux elevator on Good Times with no shaft, floor, and functioning call buttons and doors.

I always hated the fact that when Fans think about the Keith Character, they ALWAYS complain about him slapping Thelma (That was a "Leave me alone and go away slap, and not the truly abusive type of slap) and NEVER talk about the fact that he saved a child from falling to his death in an empty elevator shaft while everyone else was just screaming at Larry like idiots. Any one of those idiots could have pulled Larry to safety, but no, they choose to scream at him like complete idiots! Keith deserved some credit from Good Times Fans for saving a child's life!
