It’s almost always a man and a woman and the man always talks first and then the woman and sometimes back to man. Everyone does this.

Why not just have one person? Wouldn’t it save the station money?

I hate the "tag team" method of reporting of a story. It seems so juvenile.

There really is no need for two newscasters, but local newscasts do it to appease the demographics of the viewers. So they usually have an older white guy and a younger woman of color or vice versa. I'm surprised that is not the case with your example.
