I got my autographed picture from Mary yesterday, but it isn't personalized, and the signature is a copy :( It's also a pretty old picture of her. I don't know what happened. I'd gotten my hopes up after seeing the success that you all have gotten, so it's a little bit of a let down. I still love the picture, and I'm grateful to have it, but it's not what I thought it would be. Does anyone know what I did wrong? :confused:

Oh gosh, I wish I knew what you did! You DID say what your name was, right? LOL All I can say is wait a while and try again. And that's strange that you got that picture, it's not the one she sends out anymore.

That's why I'm so puzzled. I told her my name, that I wanted a personalized autographed picture and everything, and this is what I got. I was also puzzled that it was such an old picture of her. I know of at least two pictures of her that are more recent. Also, you can totally tell that the autograph is copied and not real. I guess I'll just have to wait and try again later. It's disappointing because it took me so long to get up the courage to ask this time, and then I didn't even get what I wanted.

Awww :( That's no fun. I can't figure that out. Maybe she's working on a project or something right now (I did see on CNN last night that for sure she and DVD are doing some PBS show scheduled to come out in '03 so maybe that's it?) and can't take time to personally autograph her pictures or something right now? Or maybe she just started getting too many requests and had to resort to the not so personal way of doing it for awhile? Anyhow, I'm sorry it didn't turn out how you thought, that must be really disappointing. But like Kristen said, maybe wait a few months and try again. I'm sure it wasn't anything you did or didn't say. :)

I agree with Becki. I bet Mary just got really busy, and you somehow slipped through the cracks. What happened to you is very rare, trust me. Usually she's a very good signer, so you definitely take another shot and write her again.
