This year's Summer of Me is a little different. It includes a five hour block on Sunday afternoons called "The Summer of Me Sunday Block Party" where a different show will be showcased every week from noon to 5PM Eastern starting June 5th.

Full House is bumped to 5PM Eastern on Sundays.

The only other change to the lineup is The A-Team premieres at 6PM Eastern starting May 30th, replacing The Addams Family and Happy Days.

This "Summer Of Me Sunday Block Party" reminds me of when MeTV also had the MeTOO channel and MeTOO would have their "Saturday Night Pajama Party" with shows like The Patty Duke Show and Family Affair. This was back around 2008 if I remember correctly.

Finally they add a new show to the weeknight lineup. Its a been a long time since MeTV put an action genre show on the 6pm timeslot. I believe Hawaii-Five O was the latest one wayyy back in 2017-18. The A-Team looks nice HD remastered and a welcomed change to the usual sitcom evening marathon we have.

I'm very excited for the Summer of Me Sunday Block party. A 5-hour marathon of a random show is something Weigel does already. H&I has the Day Shift and Decades does the Weekend Binge. So it makes sense MeTV would experiment with the binge style lineup. I just wonder if its only a Summer thing or maybe if the ratings are good enough, they make it permanent. Anything to spice up the channel. Brady Brunch been on Sundays forever.

Some of the shows I spotted on the promo were Cheers, The Flying Nun, I love Lucy, and The Monkees.

The Block Party is a bold move for them. It probably means Brady Bunch is slipping.

TVLegend

And if they were going to add The A-Team, they could have put it on Sundays in place of the Perry Mason movies instead of having it bump off The Addams Family and Happy Days.

Hmm., Pretty Cool! Glad to see The Monkees will be airring sometime during the Summer Of Me!

Gilligan’s Island gone again. Will it be going to Decades or will it be added to Antenna TV?

I don’t think The Brady Bunch was slipping I think it had to do with airplays. They were doing those Theme Weeks. Than instead of airring the series in order they have been skipping episodes.

The Brady Bunch is a Very Big Shock of its removal! Does anyone know if this is Returning in the Fall or will it be popping up on Decades? Or Did Antenna TV snatch it from Me TV??? (Hmmm)!

MeTV doesn't mess with success--so we'll see what happens with BB. One thing I'm pretty sure about--I don't think Antenna TV deals with Paramount at all.

We do know MeTV has done a lot of changing around on Sunday afternoons after BB--I'm also wondering about the success of Full House. Maybe it's done just OK and they want to test a new time.

I'd really like to see Mama return.

A-Team five days a week is a curious move by METV. A tryout maybe replacing MASH on Sunday's would allow for time to see what kind of numbers the show might get. I don't see this show working on a daily basis, The Rockford Files (assuming its available) might have been a better choice.

Sunday Afternoons are like the only hours now where MeTV seems to struggle with a stable lineup. So its not a surprise this is happening.

The Rockford Files and many other Universal action shows are all currently airing on Get TV. MeTV has lost the rights to Rockford since August 2016. Its been on Cozi and now Get TV throughout the years. I still remember an exit promo from MeTV saying its only a "vacation" for Rockford, so maybe in the future, MeTV does have plans to bid on the show to return.

The Brady Bunch will probably return in the Fall. Cant see The A-Team making it past the Summer. Because of local and world news, the 6:00 and 6:30pm slot is difficult to program. They probably should just turn the slot over to the local stations 30min news broadcast and program a popular sitcom at 6:30pm that will lead right into MASH.

Sort of thought Full House was going to be a bad acquisition, because Nick at Nite ran it into the ground back in the 2000's.
METV could cut an 1hr out of Save By The Bell, and move Full House to the 9:00am slot.

They are going to start airing the Superman cartoons (some) starting in a couple weeks, on Toon In with Me. I'd like to see them expand the cartoons an hour or maybe two on Saturday, but (gasp!) that would interfere with their beloved Westerns!

What I would do:
Saturday Mornings:
7:00AM: Popeye and Pink Panther's Party
8:00AM: Mr. Magoo and Friends (including Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoons)
8:30AM: Woody Woodpecker and Friends
9:00AM: Tom and Jerry Show

11:00AM: Jonny Quest (New show) (replacing The Flintstones)

snowpeck, do you have any information on what Svengoolie's showing in July? Thanks!

I'm hoping for The Night Walker to make a return this year (maybe in July, maybe later this year) but I'd like to see Village of the Damned make a return -- that's a really good movie! Other movies I think will make a return on Sven this year are: The Deadly Mantis, The Mole People, The Creature Walks Among Us & Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. But I'd like to see something he hasn't shown in years -- like SSSSS (since 2016!), The Time of their Lives (since 2017!), The Uninvited (again, since 2017!), or either of the Phantom of the Operas (2016 and 2017, respectively). As for new to the show movies, I know those will keep coming, and hopefully we'll see more of the MGM movies (maybe even Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1978?)

Time for (hopefully) The Uninvited, SSSSSS and The Night Walker to make a comeback on Svengoolie soon. I anticipate replays of movies like From Hell It Came, Fiend Without a Face, Mystery of the Wax Museum, The Black Scorpion (and possibly) Mummy 1959 and Time Walker 1982.

11:30AM: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! (New Show) (replacing The Jetsons)

Anyway, that's what I'd do.

Here's what I would program for Saturday and Sunday mornings:

Saturday Mornings:

6:00AM H.R. Pufnstuf (a classic Sid & Marty Krofft show)
6:30AM Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (ditto)

7:00AM Sparks (E/I) This is a Sci-Fi series about time travel produced for WRAL-TV 5, a local TV station in Raleigh, NC that ran from 1985 to 1990. Here's more about the series:
https://history.capitolbroadcasting.com/programs/childrens-shows/sparks/
https://www.wral.com/wral-tv/video/1180973/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtogVIlX8x8
https://history.capitolbroadcasting.com/media-assets/sparks-the-pony-express/

7:30AM Popeye and Pals (now back to a full hour!) This would be the best show for airing Casper the Friendly ghost and other Paramount cartoons such as Superman and Betty Boop, since they were made by the same studio. We could also add a few cartoons from The All-New Popeye Show (1978-83) as well, though the theatrical cartoons by Fleischer and Paramount's Famous Studios were better. The made-for-TV Popeye cartoons released by King Features around 1960 or so (where Bluto was renamed Brutus) were, IMHO, the worst ones, so I would leave these out!

8:30AM Pink Panther's Party
9:00AM The Tom and Jerry Show
10:00AM Bugs Bunny and Friends

11:00AM The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show (This will include the cartoon from the 1983-86 Saturday Morning run & numerous Prime-Time TV specials from over the years! The Holiday-themed cartoon specials, however, will not be included in this run.)

11:30pm The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show (a second airing of the series, giving us a full hour of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, & the Peanuts gang on Saturday mornings!)

12:00NOON The Best of American Bandstand (This will air in an edited 30 minute version due to music clearance issues, which I am pretty certain was the same reason VH1 aired their run in the 90's with a 30 minute format.)

12:30PM The Best of American Bandstand (Another episode. Add American Bandstand to the lineup after the cartoons would really make it seem like Saturday mornings many of us grew up with!)

Sunday Mornings:

6:00AM Land of the Lost (another Krofft show, this time the classic 1974-1977 run and not the 1991-1992 remake)

6:30AM Mr. Magoo and Friends (Mr Magoo. and other cartoons from the Columbia studio) I originally planned to use the Totally Tooned In pacakge once aired on Antenna TV, but I realized that viewers might confuse the show with Toon In With Me. Therefore, this will be MeTV's own cartoon show and not a set of pre-packaged episodes!

7:00AM Sparks
7:30AM Saved By the Bell
8:00AM Saved By the Bell
8:30AM Saved By the Bell
9:00AM Saved By the Bell
9:30AM The Flintstones
10:00AM The Flintstones
10:30AM The Flintstones
11:00AM The Flintstones
11:30AM The Jetsons

Enjoy! ;)

To each of their own :). The show just doesn't do it for me. Wacky filters. The show was definitely made to capitalize off of Toon in with ME. Maybe Weigel is checking the season 1 ratings to see if it did enough for more episodes.

I'm with you on extending Svengoolie though. An extra half hour means they could play longer movies and of course more Sven segments :).

I wish MeTV ran a repeat of Svengoolie sometime Sunday night. I work late and miss it sometimes. I also wish they had a ROKU Channel. I'm amazed they haven't done that yet.

It's on FrndlyTV (or however you spell it) for $6.99 a month and with DVR for $2 more so you can watch it anytime you want.

I'll check it out. As for giving Svengoolie an extra half-hour- it wouldn't work for a lot of stations because they run a version of the local news at 10. That's why they moved Collector's Call back.

I think an extra half hour, not permanently, would work. He initially was from 10-12am so it wouldn't be unheard of.

I guess it did enough to get renewed. At least we can rotate an extra episode of Batman with it. They need to take off Kolchak from the Saturday nights though. Its so overplayed.

Its nice that they don't air reruns of Collector's Call even though, I think there is enough episodes now to cycle through a syndicated run.

I don't understand why they don't replace Kolchak. Why is always the 6am show that gets replaced on Super Sci-Fi Saturday Night?

And it also looks like the MeTV Sunday Block Party is staying?!?!? That's cool I like the idea of a mystery show airing every Sunday. Its like the Decades binge.

EDIT: The A-Team is also staying! Yes!

It's really cool that the MeTV Sunday Block Party (usually reserved for summers) is now permanent, but I think they can at least air reruns of Collectors Call even when it's out of production! Also, I think Heroes & Icons is a better fit for The A-Team than MeTV.

All in all, it's still a great schedule!

It will be interesting to see what exactly they are doing. They could show three approx. 7 minute cartoons to make a half hour show, with ad time.

What I'd LIKE to see them do is repeat all the Bugs half hour specials from the late 70s and early 80s.

Andy Griffith Show
Mama's Family
Happy Days
Leave It To Beaver
MASH
My Three Sons
Gilligan's Island
Green Acres

Finally one character that I cannot identify: Old Man wearing a blue hat with green flannel w/ blue vest.
