“Green with Evil, Part I”
Episode 23 of Gopher’s Gateway

Written by Sean Sporman

Prologue
The starship Enterprise-D was now in the twentieth century, in the year 1999, only ten days until Earth’s ultimate holiday, Christmas.
On the bridge, or control center of this massive yet elegant Starship, Sean Sporman sat in command. A young A+ and popular student, his life had been turned even ten times better when he had found Federation technology, been offered to design and command a new school and been asked out by Heather Allgood.
Heather Allgood was extremely beneficial to the project, providing almost hundreds of brilliantly intelligent ideas. She was not only very smart, but also very nice and very beautiful.
Jordan Reeves had once been unable to believe that girls had crushes on Sean, but had finally given up. He had also helped the project some.
June Gabert had seemed to be completely reformed from her once-evil ways. She had befriended Sean and now seemed very nice and helpful.
June turning good must have directly influenced Peyton Freeman turning good as well. Unfortunately, Peyton remained very cynical.
Emily Ham was the main transfer from Crenshaw County and had worked extremely well with the Starfleet technology.
“Approaching drydock.” June reported with a smile, “It’s good to be back.
“I agree June.” Sean responded, “Though you have to admit, it was great fun.”
“It was at that.” June said, “One thing annoyed me though.”
Sean stood up and turned. “What’s that?” he inquired.
“Four people mentioned I was going out with some dude named Alan. When I was actually going out with you, Sean.”
Heads turned and gasps filled the bridge.
“Lucy!” Heather screamed, “Take the ship—“
Distracted, Lucy had taken her hands from the helm controls when the starship scraped the side of the spacedock. The ship was shaken violently and an aft console exploded, throwing Peyton Freeman unconscious to the floor.
Suddenly, the ship was shaken again and Jordan’s armrest console exploded, knocking him out and to the floor.

Chapter One
“June, what do sensors pick up?” Sean inquired over the chaos.
“Some kind of massive…it’s Vertigo’s MegaBot.” On the viewscreen, even through lines of static and patches of no data they could see the massive robot as it fired again. “I’ve got the shields up finally!” June reported.
“Fire phasers, full power!” Sean ordered.
The phaser beam lanced out and struck the shields of the MegaBot. Sean knew that Vertigo had attacked when the Enterprise-E was still in the future, receiving repairs after the battle with Mistress 9’s fortress.
“Their shields are…” June paused. Sean stood up and hopped over the bottom area of the tactical console’s railing. He walked up to the console.
“Spatial flux. I’ve seen it happen before. This is one point for us good guys.” Everyone watched the screen. The shields of the enemy robot flared up and then disappeared.
Sean smiled. “June, fire at will!”

Inside MegaBot, Vertigo Commander Zach Williams struggled with the controls. “We’re going down. Repeat, we’ve lost control!”
“Do something!” Derik Olvey screamed. “You never taught me how to fly this thing.”
“You’re supposed to be smart, stupid!” Drayton Holmes replied.
“Good point.” Derik realized.
“We’ve lost altitude and attitude control.” Zach exclaimed as the MegaBot was shaken again by a phaser blast from the Enterprise-D.
“This is very bad!” Derik Olvey commented.
“Well, besides the obvious, why is that?” Zach asked.
“Just look at our name…Vertigo!” Derik exclaimed, looking as the planet Earth growing ever close in the window.

“Can they survive atmospheric re-entry?” Emily Ham inquired.
“I’m pretty sure. Their hull is made of tritanium,” Sean responded, “but we have to help them. Lucy, set a rescue course.”
“We will suffer more damage.” Lucy responded, “Why help them when they tried to destroy us?”
Sean smiled and raised his head. “Because, we have to save all beings in distress, regardless of their intention or anything.”
Lucy smiled, “Setting a course now.”
June also nodded. “Charging tractor beam.”
“Going in!” The Enterprise-D flew into the upper layers of Earth’s atmosphere at speeds that exceeded Mach 5 easily. Fire from the extreme friction between the atmospheres surrounded the ship and increased the damage where the hull had already been breached by the collision with the drydock and the damage from Vertigo’s surprise attack.
On the bridge, the walls began to shake constantly. “Tractor range now. Locking beam!” There was a nervous pause. “We’ve got ‘em!” June exclaimed.
“Take us up to dock.” Sean ordered, “Heather, contact Hueytown Academy’s Sick Bay. Tell the EMH to be ready.”
“Understood.” Heather replied.
“I’ll contact Andy Blackerby to tell him to lock up Vertigo. And, Lucy, contact Starfleet Command and tell them what happened.”
Lucy nodded as the ship regained altitude.

Andy Blackerby, in a Starfleet Uniform, escorted the now unarmed members of Vertigo down the halls of the revamped Hueytown Juvenile, dubbed ‘Huey Juvie’ by some. Passing the windowed rooms, he provided commentary on some of the capture enemies.
“Laurie Crain, the first after June, she captured Sean but was stopped by Jordan Reeves and Heather Allgood along with Sean’s hologram.”
“Timothy Johnson, he may not be here, but I know of him. The traitor that hated children. He will never be forgotten.”
“Holly Toidi, Sean’s oldest foe, hater of Star Trek and imagination, he deserves the name that Jordan gave him. HA!”
“Tank Dewrell and his two evil allies: Daniel Rogers and Matt Smith from Crenshaw County along with Jennifer Davis. We can’t forget the southern stinkies.”
“Al Hulleb shows the brawn will never triumph over brains and why the smart people like Sean get all the girls and the mean, annoying, disturbing and unintelligent big-types don’t.”
“And,” Blackerby said, stopping at an open door, “Here we have the cell for the evil Vertigo with the ultimate punishment: no girls in the cell!” Blackerby laughed at the criminals walked in the cell and he closed the door, dropping the key safely in his pocket. He then turned to look at an airbrush painting of the top staff of Hueytown Academy. Sean Sporman, Heather Allgood, Jordan Reeves, Lucy Camden, Meagan Hall and the reformed June Gabert. He smiled and nodded at the picture and began his walk back, remembering the farewell to Meagan Hall…

Two days earlier-
In the Main Shuttlebay of the USS Enterprise-D, the main crew and watched as Meagan Hall and ‘Rav’ Baker stood by the runabout Hall, named so with permission from Sean Sporman.
Sean Sporman stepped forward and hugged Meagan. “You were a good friend and girlfriend.”
“Love you too, cutie.” Meagan replied. Sean chuckled as a tear formed in his eye, while he said good-bye to a friend. Meagan and ‘Rav’ had decided to head toward Risa, the resort planet of the twenty-fourth century. Meagan had wanted a break from the constant battles and anomalies.
Heather shook Meagan’s hand. “We worked well together to catch Sean over there. I will miss a friend.” Heather stepped back.
Meagan also hugged Jordan. “You never believed me, did you?” Meagan said with a chuckle. Jordan stepped back. “Well, my friends of Project Hueytown 2000, I bid you farewell until next time.” Meagan and ‘Rav’ walked into the runabout as the door closed.
Behind a protective force field, Sean, Jordan and Heather watched as the runabout took off and flew into the final frontier…

Chapter Two
“You think it worked?” Heather Allgood inquired.
“She has to be good now.” Sean replied, referring to June Gabert, “Sporman tactics worked.”
“Well,” Heather smiled and kissed Sean on the cheek, “Your tactics helped snag me.” Sean and Heather laughed.
The two currently walked down an empty corridor of Hueytown Academy.
“Do you hear something?” Heather asked.
Sean recognized the sound instantly. “Trilitihum micro-bomb. I’ve get to get you to safety!” Sean exclaimed, double tapping Heather’s combadge.
“What about you!” Heather said loudly as she dematerialized.
Sean continued to run, but the explosion went off…

“Chief Medical Officer’s Log, Terrestrial Date, 12/15/99. Emergency Medical Hologram reporting. Sean Sporman was injured in a trilithium micro-bomb explosion. He is currently unconscious in Hueytown Academy’s Sick Bay under my careful supervision. Also, while Peyton quickly recovered, Jordan is still unconscious from the blast.

Heather Allgood had rushed to lead the investigation of the explosion. Assisting in the investigation were Hannah Clements and Sailor Mercury, better known as Amy D. Mariner.
The corridor was a blackened wreck. LCARS wall panels had exploded outward, leaving a wall-mounted pile of isolinear and duotronic circuitry. Walls once shining grey were scorched black. The carpet floor had disintegrated and some chairs left in the corridor were now misshapen hulks of metal. Sean had gotten lucky, being on the edge of the explosion.
“I think we have found our bomb!” Hannah Clements exclaimed, “Or at least where it was!” Heather and Amy rushed by the site.
“Thank goodness. Now, Amy, I want you to scan this thing and check for any tell-tell signs of who made the confounded thing. Hannah, keep scanning, I have to go check on Sean now.”
Heather disappeared into the corridor.
“She’s taking it pretty good, don’t you think?” Amy Mariner asked.
“Indeed.” Hannah remarked, “Though I know she feels guilty since Sean saved her first.”
“That was the only thing to do.” Amy replied, “If my boyfriend was about to be hurt, I would do the same thing.”
Hannah nodded in agreement and sighed. “We had better get to work.”

In the Starfleet Audiophonics Hall, Michelle V. Trepvoy smiled as she listened to an oldies song called Rocketman. She sighed, “Pause playback. Now, if I could only find a boyfriend. I am very pretty! It shouldn’t be that hard.” Sailor Neptune was what she was commonly known as, but she liked her original name as well.
Suddenly, she heard a strange humming noise. She began to run out of the hall, but suddenly the noise stopped. Looking back, she saw it was merely an old-model air conditioner left over from the ancient and archaic technology of the original Hueytown High School. “Computer, resume playback. Thank Neptune it wasn’t another trilithium micro-bomb!”

In Sick Bay of Hueytown Academy, the Emergency Medical Hologram examined, on his office screens, data from a personal PADD of Sean Sporman’s, recovered after the explosion. Andrea Dickinson assisted him.
“It’s his crush list.” The doctor stated, leaning back in his chair with an egotistical smile, “First comes Heather Allgood—her extreme beauty is only matched by her great intelligence and superb personality—that’s Sean’s descriptor of her.”
“Sounds like he likes her a lot.” Andrea commented. “Next is—?“
“What?” The holodoc sat up, “June Gabert!?”
“Well, let’s remember, Doctor, she has reformed.” Said Andrea. “What’s her descriptor?”
“She is very cute with a now interesting personality and charming sense of humor.” The doctor laughed, “No wonder Sporman is the ladies’ man, he respects them so much.”
Andrea giggled. “I like him a little myself, but then again, what girl at this school doesn’t?”
“Indeed.” The doctor said again. “Next is Peyton Freeman—very pretty and funny, if at times a tad too cynical. Still, she is cool.”
“Who’s next?” Andrea asked, when Heather Allgood entered the office, quickly followed by June. The Doctor allowed his eyebrow to arch as Andrea suppressed a giggle.
“Well, if it isn’t the two girls Sean has top crushes on.” The Doctor expected a scene worthy of the theatre he had been recently studying. But, both Heather and June smiled.
“Oh, we know, Doctor. We’re special.” Heather replied. Andrea released her giggle.
“That’s why we looooove him. He is so nice, clean-minded and smart. Good looking too.” June replied. Andrea was now rolling on the floor as the Doctor himself began to laugh.
“And everyone wonders why I always say life rules so much.” Sean Sporman said from his biobed. June and Heather rushed into the main section of the Sick Bay.
Heather walked to Sean first, kissing him on the cheek.
“I’m glad you are doing well, Sean.” Heather said, standing by the biobed, which Sean was on.
“Thanks, Heather. Are you doing ok?”
“Yes, Sean! Thanks for asking.” She smiled and stepped backward as June walked up.
“Hello, June—“ June hopped on the biobed and kissed Sean in a prolonged smooch.
After the smooch, June hopped off the biobed. Sean saw the doctor smiling, “Well, they do say love is good for your health.” Sean said, a huge smile lining his face. The doctor merely turned and walked into his office.
“Thanks, June, I didn’t know you cared so much.”
“You bet I care, my Spormanator.” June replied. Laughter could be heard throughout the Sick Bay. Even Heather was laughing.
June then reached into her pocket.
“What do you have there?” Sean inquired.
“A big surprise, honey!” June replied.
Suddenly, June fired a modified phaser. Sean was knocked off of his biobed and backwards onto the floor. Heather tried to reach for her phaser, but it was too late, June was dematerializing from a transporter beam. “Ride the green wave!” she exclaimed and was gone.
As Heather walked over by Sean behind the biobed, another explosion ripped through sick bay…

Chapter Three
“Acting Principal’s Log, Stardate 9912.15, Lucy Camden reporting. No one has been killed thankfully, but Sean, Heather, Jordan and Andrea have been injured. The Emergency Medical Hologram, who was unaffected by the explosion, is on the still-damaged Enterprise-D, which is undergoing repairs…”

Hannah Clements ducked behind a LCARS tower as another phaser blast flew over her head. She fired back, on stun of course, but missed her target.
“How did she escape too?” Lucy Camden asked. “It seems like everyone’s revenge Day or something.” Lucy was hunched behind a Pepsi vending machine. Another blast hit the vending machine, weakening the structural integrity.
“I don’t know, but Erin Wesson has attacked this school before.” Hannah replied, “She might have popped out of Huey Juvie!”
“Good point.” Lucy replied, shooting at Erin again. This time Erin fell backwards, stunned. Lucy and Hannah stood up when suddenly Erin stood up and dematerialized.
“She’s going to her attack fighter!” Lucy realized.
“Let’s get to the runabout!” Hannah suggested, referring the small space-capable vehicle given to them by the Enterprise-E.
Lucy tapped her combadge. “Computer, transport sequence EAF-2.” Lucy and Hannah dematerialized...

In the runabout Danube, the two primaries of Hueytown Academy were ready to stop the intruder onto the grounds of the school. “Thrusters online…weapons and shields confirmed charged.” Hannah reported.
“Taking off.” The dome above the special runabout hangar slowly opened and the runabout took off vertically and then flew from the hangar. “Get a fix on her position.” Lucy ordered.
“She just took off…3 kilometers this way.” Hannah reported.
“Let’s take this into space.” Lucy said, “Do a run from above, fire and then fly off into space.”
The runabout did, as Lucy desired, releasing two phaser beams onto Erin Wesson’s attack craft, and then flying up into orbital space around Earth.
“We are being hailed by her.” Hannah reported.
“On my left screen.” Lucy ordered, turning her chair. “Care to surrender? You will be treated fairly.”
“You call Huey Juvie fair?” Erin Wesson snapped back, “Just shut up and give up!” The screen turned off.
Suddenly, the runabout was shaken by another phaser blast. “Shields at 73%!” Hannah reported, “Those blasts are enhanced with some kind of tibuton gas!”
“Evasive maneuvers. Fire phasers at will and micro-torpedoes at every chance!” The Danube, piloted by Lucy and Hannah, moved left and right quickly, firing a phaser blast, which just barely missed the enemy. Erin’s ship fired again, also missing. The Danube fired a photon micro-torpedo and when Erin’s craft maneuvered out of the way, the Danube fired three phaser beams, disabling Erin Wesson’s once-proud attack fighter.
Lucy and Hannah cheered their latest victory.

The Bridge of the Enterprise-D may not have been the tidiest bridge of Federation starship after the damage incurred on the Galaxy-class Starship, but is still functioned.
“Commander, look at this.” Ambassador Worf had been temporarily assigned due to him being a security expert.
“What is it, Worf?” Riker inquired.
“It appears that the helm was on autopilot when the accident occurred. I suspect sabotage.”
Riker nodded. “I’ll tell the Captain. Meanwhile, lets keep looking for clues…and Worf?”
“Yes?”
“Don’t lose those glasses.” Riker chuckled at Worf’s totally blank expression.

Sean Sporman woke up feeling groggy and light-headed sitting up to consciousness for the second time. “Doctor?” His voice was weak and carried very little. But, thanks to the Emergency Medical Hologram’s enhanced hearing, he rushed to the biobed.
“What is it?” the Doctor asked.
Sean’s voice sounded like a struggle. “Stop…me…no…mind…self.” Something snapped and Sean stood up quickly.
“Computer, deactivate the Emergency Medical Hologram.”
“Hey, I just got—“ The doctor shimmered offline as Sean exited the door.
Just after that, the hologram automatically reactivated himself. “Let me count…just how many more times will I be flipped off like a light switch! I’ve got to do something about it…”

In the corridor, Sean Sporman smiled deviously as he held a type-one phaser in his hand. He passed by Allen Johnston. “Good to see you up.”
“Good to see you too.” Sean responded, as he quickly stunned him.
“Computer,” Sean said, stopping at a wall LCARS console, “Locate Peyton Freeman.”
“Peyton Freeman is on Deck 8, section 2.”
Sean nodded, smiling and continuing his walk down the corridor.

Chapter Four
Sean Sporman shocked Peyton Freeman when he entered her personal quarters on board the Enterprise-D.
“It’s OK. Code SSE—PJCL.”
Peyton stood up, throwing her combadge to the floor. She proceeded to pick up her type-one phaser and smiled. She then ran up to Sean and shocked him with a smooch.
Sean sighed and smiled. “Let’s go. You have the coordinates?”
Peyton nodded and pointed to her head, indicating she had it in her memory. “I do.”
“Then here we go.”

Commander Riker sat in the Captain’s chair on the Bridge of the Enterprise-D. “It’s been a long time, eh, Worf?”
“Indeed it has.” The Klingon replied. Suddenly, the red alert klaxons sounded and Worf darted to the tactical console.
“What is it?” Riker inquired.
“Enemy ship approaching, Ferengi design. Also, Sean Sporman is under mind control and loose on the ship with Peyton Freeman.”
“Hail the Ferengi.” Riker ordered.
“No response.” Replied Worf, “They will intercept in two minutes.”
“Does this thing still work?” inquired Riker, “The Enterprise-E is undergoing a Level 1 diagnostic. They are immobile for a temporal period of ten earth minutes.”
“Impulse engines and weapons are online. Shields at one-quarter power. It will be an honorable battle.”
“Prepare to initiate saucer seper. We are going to the stardrive section.”
Worf nodded as they headed for the turbolift.

Sean and Peyton entered the transporter room. Peyton stunned Courtney Gage with her phaser, who was at the transporter controls.
“Let’s go.” Peyton said, setting the delay on the controls and running onto the transporter controls.
Sean’s combadge chirped and with a smile he tapped it. “I’ve released the anti-mind control agent.” The Emergency Medical Hologram reported.
Sean held up his phaser. “The Doctor knew about June’s ‘lovely kiss’ attack all along. It was the only explanation. Not that I minded the method of delivery…”
Peyton suddenly fired her phaser. As Sean saw the beam, he attempted to avoid it, but was hit.
Peyton picked up his limp and unconscious body and ran onto the transporter pad. “Hot, smart and easy to carry around for bossing. If only he was evil…”

Heather Allgood awoke as the Enterprise-D was hit by a phaser blast.
The Emergency Medical Hologram looked distressed. “Sean’s been taken prisoner by Peyton…who has a crush on Sean too, it looks like. Doctor out.” The doctor tapped his combadge off and noticed Heather had awakened.
“What happened to Sean?” Heather asked, concerned.
“I’ll tell you…if you follow Doctor’s orders.” The Emergency Medical Hologram smiled.
“Sure. Go ahead.”
“Halleluiah!” The holographic doctor exclaimed, “Someone finally listens to this young hologram. Now, here’s what happened…”

“The Ferengi cruiser is retreating.” Worf reported on the Battle Bridge of the Enterprise-D, “We have incurred damage on their weapons systems and the run like the cowards they are.”
“And, now they are back in the future, no doubt.” Riker said as he slumped backward in his chair, unsure of what would happen next.

“Captain’s Log, Captain Picard reporting, While the Ferengi threat has been neutralized, searching for Captain Sporman thus far has proven unsuccessful…”

Heather Allgood was now on the Bridge of the Enterprise-D, now 47% repaired as a whole starship. “We’ve searched ninety-four micro-sectors of space in the Terran system and have found nothing!” Heather exclaimed from her command chair, “I just know he’s out there…” Her voice trailed off.
Michelle V. Trepvoy, still sometimes called Sailor Neptune, walked up besides Heather. “I know how much boyfriends mean…even at our age. And look at who you had, I’ve only known him for a week and he seems very sweet, smart, and he looks good too.” The two girls chuckled. “I’m going down to the Holodeck for a…shall we say…lineup. I could use some opinions. You too, Emily?” The three girls nodded.

Chapter Five
While the trained science officers searched for Sean Sporman; Heather Allgood, Michelle V. Trepvoy and Emily Ham were engaging in a diversion, bowling, with talking too.
“Some lineup…mediocre pun there.” Heather Allgood commented as she rolled her ball down the alley lane…and rolled a perfect strike. “Yes!”
“Well, I thought it was pretty good. I heard a rumor you might not be going out with Sean anymore, is that true?” Michelle V. Trepvoy said.
Heather looked distraught. “Of course not! Where did you hear that silly rumor…on second thought…I don’t want to know!”
“I just thought I could snag him for a boyfriend.”
“Join the crowd of others who do to. I feel lucky…but it does not hurt his ego going out with me though.”
“Ah,” Emily commented, “The ever-fragile male ego.”
“Yeah, with some men, even the big ones,” Michelle V. Trepvoy began, preparing her bowling ball, “One small touch and it bleeds.”
“Not with Sean though.” Heather commented happily, watching Michelle V. Trepvoy’s ball knock over only seven pins. “He controls his ego, and is sometimes modest.”

“Modest.” Chuckled Jordan Reeves, deactivating the vidlink as he sat in Sick Bay, slowly recovering from his injuries, “The one word I thought I would never hear to describe Sean Sporman.”
“Really?” The Emergency Medical Hologram noted, “He seems quite the honorable one.”
“On the outside, maybe.” Jordan said, “But I think that on the inside he’s got enough to fill five egos…super-sized.”
Suddenly, Jordan Reeves heard Heather’s voice, “Well, we’ve got our own vidlink, Mister and we disagree.”
“I almost feel sorry for Jordan.” The Doctor then chuckled, “Almost.”

Sean Sporman awoke in a green-tinted room.
He heard the doors open and knew instantly who had entered the room.
“June…why?” Sean said.
“Didn’t you like my kiss laced with a terlozine mind-control agent?” June sat down by him.
“You are dev—“
June slapped him, and then shook her head. “Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot. We might be able to make reparations.” She smooched Sean for the second time today. “Now will you give me the command codes?”

“We’re picking up something strange on sensors.” Hannah Clements reported from Tactical as Heather, Michelle and Emily returned to their bridge stations.
“I think it’s something decloaking.” Emily Ham noted.
On the viewscreen, a massive green ship decloaked in front of the Enterprise-D.
“Merciful heavens!” Lucy Camden exclaimed.
“We are being hailed by the Romulan vessel.” Hannah stated.
“On screen.” Heather ordered, standing up.
A Romulan commander appeared on the viewscreen. “I’m Commander Sela of the Romulan Star Empire. Surrender or be destroyed.”
“I’m Captain Heather Allgood of the United Federation of Planets. We are on a mission of mercy. Our Captain is missing and we would appreciate your assistance in this matter.”
Sela laughed. “Naïve Federation kiddies. I’m cutting this superfluous transmission.”
“Sean’s on that ship.” Emily reported.
“Prepare to fire.” Heather ordered.
But, before they could fire, two explosions ripped through the ship, throwing everyone to the floor…
