I know it wasn't real beer because that would be illegal. I remember when Cheers was nearing its final episode, they explained what they used as a beer substitute. Anybody remember what that was? Because I forgot.

It could possibly be non alcoholic beer, becasue it looks and pours like regular beer..

That's what I originally believed myself, however, I don't think that's what it was. Was "Near Beer" even around in '82? I'm not sure.

I believe non-alcoholic beer has been around for that long, although I really don't see why...

apple juice maybe? lol if theres no real beer to compare it too, apple juice looks surprisingly like the real thing...but apple juice doesnt get bubbly like the stuff did on the show...

How about soda? It's bubbly and fizzy. It can look like beer too. Just my guess.

I'm trying to remember what it was. I think it might have been plain ol' water with some kind of coloring added to it. All that I do remember for sure, is that they used something to make the drinks foamy. That's why I don't think it was non alcholic beer. :confused:

I was watching some show on how they make beer foamy n commercials, and they said something about using Dish soap, to give it the foam. But I seriously doubt that the actors would drink dish soap. Just a thought...

I'll just have to do some "research" this weekend by going to some local establishments and asking my bartender friends.
Just another chance to improve my television knowledge...
