I know it wasn't real beer because that would be illegal. I remember when Cheers was nearing its final episode, they explained what they used as a beer substitute. Anybody remember what that was? Because I forgot.

View Full Version : Just what were they drinking anyway??? Brian Damage 07-30-2002, 04:58 PM I know it wasn't real beer because that would be illegal. TJL 07-30-2002, 05:07 PM It could possibly be non alcoholic beer, becasue it looks and pours like regular beer.. Brian Damage 07-30-2002, 07:26 PM Originally posted by TJL It could possibly be non alcoholic beer, becasue it looks and pours like regular beer.. That's what I originally believed myself, however, I don't think that's what it was. Was "Near Beer" even around in '82? I'm not sure. TJL 07-30-2002, 07:52 PM I believe non-alcoholic beer has been around for that long, although I really don't see why... FOLN@NFan 07-30-2002, 09:44 PM apple juice maybe? lol if theres no real beer to compare it too, apple juice looks surprisingly like the real thing...but apple juice doesnt get bubbly like the stuff did on the show... samanddiane4eva 07-30-2002, 09:50 PM How about soda? It's bubbly and fizzy. It can look like beer too. Just my guess. Brian Damage 07-31-2002, 04:16 PM I'm trying to remember what it was. I think it might have been plain ol' water with some kind of coloring added to it. All that I do remember for sure, is that they used something to make the drinks foamy. That's why I don't think it was non alcholic beer. Cheersaddict123 07-31-2002, 04:22 PM I was watching some show on how they make beer foamy n commercials, and they said something about using Dish soap, to give it the foam. But I seriously doubt that the actors would drink dish soap. Just a thought... TJL 07-31-2002, 06:28 PM I'll just have to do some "research" this weekend by going to some local establishments and asking my bartender friends. Just another chance to improve my television knowledge... I'll let you know how that goes. Brian Damage 07-31-2002, 07:35 PM LOL Have a round for the sake of television research! |
