Not surprising given that it was a streaming show. Most streaming shows unless they are massive hits won't go more than two or three seasons. As by that point they will have brought in most of the new subscribers that they are capable of bringing in.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar discusses with Kristian Harloff about returning to the world of Bayside in the Saved By The Bell reboot and how he was bummed that NBC gave up on it.

^^^ I wish that the second season would get released on DVD especially with it being the last one that was done.

God bless you and the cast always!!!

P.S. Screech and Dustin Diamond being gone now was acknowledged during the second season, right?

It wouldn't have been cancelled if actress Samantha Becker would be rebooted and then reintroduced as the new friend of the original class as Maria Lopez.

Streaming TV is too "fickle" and "tricky" for a show like the Saved By The Bell sequel series to work unfortunately, says AC Slater actor Mario Lopez (https://www.thepopverse.com/tv-saved-by-the-bell-peacock-reboot-mario-lopez-elizabeth-berkley)

No, Squid Game season 3 really doesn't end with a teaser for a future Netflix spin-off
If you didn’t watch the 2020 Saved by the Bell reboot, then you’re missing out. The Peacock streaming series was a fun update of the ‘90s sitcom. It tackled COVID-19, LGBTQIA+ rights, race, class, and other issues while poking fun at the tone of the old show. It was a bit experimental at times, but it was an entertaining reboot.

Unfortunately, Peacock cancelled the series after two seasons. Mario Lopez, who reprised his role as A.C. Slater on the show, blames the chaos surrounding Hollywood’s streaming services.

“It was fun,” Lopez says during a panel at GalaxyCon Oklahoma City 2025. “It was just like when you see your old high school friends that you actually went to school with, because we essentially all grew up at the same time, because we were actual high school kids.”

“It was neat, you kind of pick up where you left off. I think it could of gone at least another season, but the streaming world is tricky and fickle to say the least, but I’m proud of the couple of seasons that we did.”

“It was a lot of fun, because Mark-Paul directed an episode, so it was great to have that ease and comfort and flow together. He knows these characters better than anyone. It was hard because it was during COVID, so there were all these protocols. It was hard, but it was joyful to be back together.” Elizabeth Berkley adds.

If you’re curious, you can still catch the series on Peacock. Trust me, the series is entertaining and definitely worth a watch.
