The actress who played Family Matters matriarch Harriette Winslow revealed the alleged incident while talking about Mother's Day with Entertainment Tonight. "There was one time he actually wanted to physically fight me," Payton said, recalling the Season 9 episode, "Original Gangsta Dawg," (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pki9AjcZRyI) in which White also played Steve's "gangster" cousin, OGD. "(There was a scene where) I said we can't do that, standards and practices will not let that pass, it's not gonna happen. He wanted to do it anyway... He was so mad, he started kicking and screaming and stuff. He said something about, 'She must want to melee.' I said, 'What's a melee?' He said, 'a fight.' I turned around -- if he wanna fight, I would. Darius (McCrary) grabbed me. I was gonna whip his behind." Payton says she doesn't entirely blame White, calling the actor, who was 21 when the episode, aired "just a kid" at the time. She blamed the adults on the show for "letting him run wild and do whatever he wanted to do, thinking he can say what he wants to say, you know, and hurt people's feelings and all that."

This is maybe just me wanting to not think ill of Jaleel.
But when I read stuff like this, I wonder if that is not some people still being jealous of his success at the time.

Well I don’t know, Jaimee Foxworth alleged some bullying about him as well. Both kept quiet for many years. I’m not saying they are absolutely right but you gotta wonder if he was a little hot headed.

Yes, I know.
But I would say that they are the two cast members, who would be the most likely to resent his popularity.
And it makes me a bit sceptical...

And it makes me a bit sceptical...Jaleel White was publicly mocking how poor of an actress he thought Jaimee Foxworth was, that was in some thread here a few months ago. So his personal character is very lacking, you seem to think he is an angel who does no wrong. I believe the bullying claims on set as well.

Yeah the things he said and alleged Darius and him making fun of her behind her back were very mean spirited.

He was a kid and he became a sensation overnight. Things like that can go to your head. It happened with Gary Coleman on Diff'rent Strokes.

Jaleel’s ‘Uncensored’ episode may have played a role in why JoMarie decided to speak out.

A while ago, Jaleel said (https://shadowandact.com/jaleel-white-says-co-stars-didnt-approve-of-family-matters-dress-scene-his-father-intervened-after-he-cried) they were against some of the characters and directions (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125219/http://www.jumptheshark.com/f/familymatters.htm) he was taking the show (https://web.archive.org/web/20140404234624/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3116067-family-matters-you-know-the-one-with-urkel/?view=getnewpost)...the popular one was how they were against him playing Myrtle Urkel because there was a trend at the time of putting black men in dresses for white laughs...they didn't like it.

Well, for what it's worth, there were a while back, domestic violence (https://rnbphilly.com/195441/jaleel-steve-urkel-white-cleared-of-domestic-abuse-charges/) allegations (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/jaleel-white-domestic-vio_n_640092) involving (https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/04/jaleel-white-admitted-being-abusive-under-oath-says-baby-mama-bridget-hardy/) Jaleel and (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/%E2%80%98family-matters%E2%80%99-jo-marie-payton-claim-jaleel-white-tried-to-fight-her-on-set-adults-allowed-jaleel-to-run-wild.4889858/post-81661723) the mother of his child.

There's already online talk (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/%E2%80%98family-matters%E2%80%99-jo-marie-payton-claim-jaleel-white-tried-to-fight-her-on-set-adults-allowed-jaleel-to-run-wild.4889858/post-81676687) that alleges that Jaleel not only bullied Jaimee on set, he would lock her in a closet as well.

He locked her in the dressing room before taping once according to her.

When he was on DWTS he had a tantrum because his partner said ouch when he stepped on her foot. They called him Jerkel.

Okay, now I need a direct quote of what he said.
Because I must say that it sounds like that it could be taken out of context.

Thank you Lorimar for giving me a link.
Okay, I believe that this is what you're thinking of:

JALEEL WHITE: You know, I'm always down for something like that. But Jamiee was just to me like this just sassy little girl who could never quite deliver a line, as sassy as she was off camera. When she would have a line of dialogue, you know, it's just like, "and she blows the layup." Because it was just like, no matter how you put the line in her mouth, she just couldn't, [SNAP] boom, deliver the joke. But off camera, off camera, hilarious.

But would I see that as Jaleel mocking Jaimee for being a bad actress?
Not really.
He was only giving some explanations for why the people in charge didn't give her much of a chance.

Even if you don't consider that bad, there is no excuse for Jaleel locking Jaimee in a closet and bullying her on set (see post #10 from TMC). And in post #9 just before, domestic violence allegations from the mother of his child who wouldn't have been on Family Matters, so it isn't just his castmates who have had problems.

I read on the season he was on he was entitled and the cast disliked him. There was a beloved actress on that season whom everyone loved (can't remember which actress now, but I think an older one) and he made fun of her as well and the cast didn't like it, if I recall one of the male dancers almost got into it with him as well.

Sometimes, what people say about somebody else isn't true.
It is important to remember that allegations is not proof that something happened.

Maybe, but I don't believe that he was mocking her.

Well as a fan of Judy I can say her acting in season 4 wasn’t as great as seasons 1-3 at some points. Her asking Carl for help with Harriets ruined dress felt a little phoned in. But I don’t believe Foxworth was a bad actress at all. Her delivery of “I’m wet, I’m cold, and I’m cranky. Don’t mess with me!” Was brilliant and she had many others

I only heard of him being an A##hole to Kym Johnson (allegedly) but can you post the other cast mates opinions about them? (Allegedly).

Come to think of it, I'm beginning to suspect that this was the true reason why JoMarie abruptly left the show half way into the last season and was replaced by Judyann Elder.
