Ray Walston is excellent in My Favorite Martian. However, Bill Bixby was better in The Courtship of Eddie's Father, great chemistry with his TV son. I will give Courtship the edge, but MFM is a definite upgrade over McHale's Navy in the noon hour on Antenna TV. As far as alien sitcoms go though, 3rd Rock from the Sun is much better.
