Hey all!

You may remember me as RainMan from back in the day, and I was a hell raiser (believe me…living in rural Iowa as a teenager was boring).

Anyways, because of this message board, I have made a lifelong friend. I can’t recall her username,
but she ended up migrating from my AIM to MySpace to Facebook, and we have remained friends for over 20 years because of being here!

Crystal is a great friend, and this weekend, I’m in Portland, Maine to hang out with her!

This will be the fourth time we’ve hung out in person over the years.

I just wanted to thank you all who were here 20 years ago, and for TJ, for creating an awesome website…I appreciate all of you!

As said previously, I was RainMan (look me up)...and as a teenager on this message board, I was very obnoxious (I'm sure there are a few members that still post here from back then that can vouch), and I didn't know how to read a room, or think prior to me posting things, which initially got me banned (and I completely understand why)...I grew up, and I hope you all don't take offense, but my focus shifted to other things, and the urge to post on here faded away, primarily because I was banned.

I still pop in every now and then. OMG, how my obsession of Kmart shifted...now I could care less about it, as the CEO Eddie Lampert is running it into the ground, using the stores as a vehicle for his real estate empire.

Thanks for stopping by and for the update. RainMan, that's a blast from the past from 2002 to 2006. Your Kmart threads were legendary. It's sad what has happened to them with only three locations left.

I lifted the ban on your original account. I don't even remember the reasons for it. Looking back on it now, we banned far too many people in those early years. Others were far worse hellraisers and troublemakers than you.

It's crazy to think people who were teenagers back then are now in their late 30s/early 40s. Time sure flies.

That's very cool you made a lifelong friend on here who you've met in person four times. I've read similar stories in the past. Message boards used to be the place to hang out before Facebook and social media took over.

By the way, Eddie Lampert did the same thing to the once legendary Sears!

I think there's a lot of us who have had embarrassing online moments in our teen years. I believe you were active on these forums before I joined, but I do recall your screen name quite well. It's good to hear from you. I definitely remember Crystal, and I think it's great you two have kept in touch over the years. Fabulous photo of you two as well!
