Yup, that's a real status thing out there, who's house you tore down to build yours.

I remember a former boss of mine bragging about how he tore down Dean Martin's old house to build on the lot.

If people took chances in the 40's and on and they invested in CA real estate their heirs are sitting pretty...It's all in the risk on this Huge CA business.

I'm glad our apt owner bought this bldg when he did and kept it all these years and I looked up records, and the bldg is paid off. He owns 3 bldgs on the West Side and now owned by his heirs that are left and the homes bought in between.
