It was called "Law in the Family" and it was about the Rabinowitz's. Somewhere in the 3rd or 4th season, Lear was piloting the idea of spinning them off into their own show and had an entire episode or two about them. However, it didn't test well and never happened. Would have made for great comedy!!! Rabinowitz, Rabinowitz and Chan! lol

Wow no kidding. Barry Gordon as Rabinowitz. 704 Houser Street was another spin off that fell short.
I wonder how heavy it would've been on the social commentary? By the time Archie Bunker's Place premiered, it seems like most of the Norman Lear sitcoms had toned down the commentary. They almost felt like generic early-80s sitcoms...

Stories were going to be mainly centered around the court cases and the different political beliefs of the various members of the Rabinowitz family.
Marsha Warfield was being thought of for the role of court clerk, which is how she was again thought of for Night Court.
Johnny be good!

I feel the same way you do on this. You can tell in the writing. I didn't see this spinoff with the Rabinowitz's working.
