MacLaren's is inspired by New York City's McGee's Pub
A real-life Irish pub in Hell's Kitchen, located right in the middle of one of the most attractive spots in Manhattan, McGee's Pub (https://mcgeespubny.com/) provides the blueprint for MacLaren's Pub in "How I Met Your Mother."
