Despite the controversial exit of Jeff Garlin, The Goldbergs' (https://deadline.com/2022/04/the-goldbergs-renewed-season-10-abc-1234992880/) renewal (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/u7eeed/the_goldbergs_renewed_for_season_10_by_abc/) for its 10th season (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheGoldbergs/comments/u7eeie/the_goldbergs_renewed_for_season_10_by_abc/) isn't surprising (https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/5961-the-goldbergs-in-the-media-thats-incredible/page/3/#comments) since Wendi McLendon-Covey signed a new deal (https://deadline.com/2022/03/the-goldbergs-wendi-mclendon-covey-new-deal-season-10-renewal-abc-1234987321/) last month and since the show (https://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/653907-goldbergs-abc-season-9-a-6.html) is still very popular on ABC. But what will happen (https://tvline.com/2022/04/19/the-goldbergs-renewed-season-10-abc-jeff-garlin-murray/) to Garlin's character, Murray Goldberg, following the actor's exit after he was investigated by HR? "According to an individual with knowledge of the production, official plans for Garlin’s character are forthcoming, but it is likely that he will be written off the show," reports Variety's Joe Otterson.

Was hoping show would end this season. Painful to watch with Pops and Murray fone.

This show is going to crap. I forget where I read this, but there was supposed to be some non-descript actor who had Jeff Garlin's face posted on him CGI-style.

And I read on another post that Adam Goldberg actually left the show!

I watched this show about the first three seasons and then lost interest saw an episode from this season to see how the kids have grown. The youngest child who was kind of the focus of the show is more or less an adult. But the middle brother hasn’t aged too much. The episode was the daughter planning her wedding, or basically the pushy mother planning the wedding. I watched about half of it and turned it off.

Jeff Garlin is awesome and was most of the reason I watched the show as long as I did. George Segal as the grandfather also made the show. The actress who played the mother was on Reno 911!, an excellent comedy show and she is actually good here.

I don’t know why I stopped watching it. Maybe because the youngest son was the focus of the show. If it was mostly about the parents and the grandfather, it would have held my interest longer. I think Jeff Garlin sort of screwed himself for acting a letch (if he was, but O don’t doubt it). Ironically on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, he was at a party and people were mistaking him for Harvey Weinstien. But here he played a good father to his kids (and this was before I discovered Curb, which I am only a very casual fan of because it is hard for poor people like me to laugh at multi millionaires living and having problems in Bel Air).

Strange how long shows can go on. I guess the bar is now lower. This show has been on longer than a lot of classics. For a series which is OK but not groundbreaking and will be as forgettable as Family Ties when it goes off the air.

Yeah he left after season 7 I think, weird since the show was literally about his family (except he doesn’t have sisters)

I mean, the show is set in the '80s. He could have that shaggier hairdo. I feel like '80s hairdos are not well represented on this series.
