I mean, Vint was a locksmith and Naomi worked full time at the Food Circus (and was later promoted to Asst. Manager).

the problem with them i think is that they were lazy, unmotivated individuals who were set in their "lazy, unmotivated" ways...the only way they would have moved out, in my opinion, is if they had won the lottery or if they had been successful with a get rich quick scheme...they would have never taken the initiative to do the work it takes to find a new place. Besides, they always counted on Mama to feed them and clean the basement/house. By moving out, they would have had to give up that important perk-unless Mama moved in with them...

I think Naomi wanted to leave, but Vint got used to having Mama take care of him so he was less motivated to leave. In the earlier NBC episodes Vint wanted to leave, but I think over time he got used to staying with his Mama
