They didn't appear to trust anyone anywhere to live their own lives (https://www.datalounge.com/thread/19709341-7th-heaven) without interference (https://www.collegetimes.com/entertainment/heres-7th-heaven-weirdest-show-ever-149096) and condescension (https://www.reddit.com/r/7thheaven/comments/kbkitl/anyone_just_now_going_back_for_a_rewatch/). And it seemed like they were hugely manipulative toward almost everyone, including their (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_7th_Heaven_characters) children (https://web.archive.org/web/20140401071857/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3127454-7th-heaven-there-is-no-god/page-314#entry15258395).

All that I can say is that they did whatever they thought was right which in my opinion is what made them well intended people.
