Pedro Pascal is turning 47 today. Pascal was born in Santiago, Chile. As his parents were prominent in the opposition to General Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_dictatorship_of_Chile_(1973%E2%80%931990)), they left Chile when he was very young. Pascal, therefore, grew up in the US, studying at NYU.
Since 2019, Pascal has been starring on Disney+’s The Mandalorian (https://screenrant.com/the-mandalorian-graphic-novel-adaptation/). He plays the title character, a bounty hunter whose given name is Din Djarin.

Pascal began working in American television at the end of the 1990s. He “paid his dues” for over a decade, making guest appearances on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, Nurse Jackie, and three series in the Law & Order franchise. He appeared in recurring roles on seasons 1 and 2 of The Good Wife, and on season 1 of Graceland.
Pascal also did a lot of theater work in the 2000s. He appeared in a Shakespeare in the Park production of Macbeth, and in off-Broadway productions of several plays, including Jordan Harrison’s Maple and Vine and Nilo Cruz’s Beauty of the Father. More recently, he made his Broadway debut in 2019, as Edmund in a production of King Lear.
Pascal first began to be noticed when he appeared on season 4 of Game of Thrones as Oberyn Martell. He then starred as Javier Pena on Netflix’s Narcos. His feature film also began to take off. He appeared in prominent roles in several action films, including The Wall, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Wonder Woman 1984 (as Maxwell Lord).
Pascal is expected to return to star on season 3 of The Mandalorian, and his character has crossed over as a regular on The Book of Boba Fett. He currently is part of the ensemble cast of Judd Apatow’s just-released The Bubble. He has also been cast as the lead character of Joel Miller, on an HBO series adapting the video game The Last of Us.
