Mackenzie Davis is celebrating her 35th birthday today. Davis grew up in British Columbia, and made her feature film debut in Smashed in 2012. She had roles in films such as Breathe In and The F Word, and then became a regular on the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, which ran from 2014-17.
Davis attracted some notice for starring in Always Shine and Izzy Gets the F*** Across Town, film festival favorites from 2016 and 2017. She also raised her profile with supporting roles in a pair of big-budget sci-fi films, The Martian and Blade Runner 2049.
In 2019, Davis starred as the “augmented” human Grace Harper, in Terminator: Dark Fate.
In 2020, Davis had prominent roles in three films. She starred in The Turning, an adaptation of Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw, and in the political comedy Irresistible. She also starred with Kristen Stewart in the lesbian rom-com Happiest Season. Most recently, Davis starred on the HBO Max miniseries Station Eleven.
