Ok...I want to learn how to play the guitar. My friend recently got a guitar at a cheap price, that's what she said. She didn't tell me the price though. Anyway, how much do guitars cost? Not used. And, how much are the lessons? I only know Kaley plays the guitar but, how long did it take you to become familiar with the
notes and playing and everything?

I payed 400 bux for mine. Well, actually I didn't pay anything for it, just traded my clarinet in on it. They had some for 700 bux and 900....but mom said I could just get a cheaper one to practice on until I got good and then she'd buy me a really nice one. Your fingers will hurt like a bitch the first couple of weeks. It took me about 2 weeks to learn to play Amazing Grace...but you might want to just get a learning tape & book and learn all that you can from that before you start lessons. That's what I'm doing anyways. Lessons here are like 10 bux an hour.

I've got a guitar at home...but I can't play Flute, Violin, Piano, AND Guitar at the same time......

Ouch. lol. If i still had my floot that would help. 300 bux. I want an electric guitar. I dont know how much they cost. I don't care. I'm getting a high quality one straight off. they say the cheaper they are the harder they are to play wich makes it suck more. I dont like things that suck. I like beef.

BTW what do you want? An acoustic or electric guitar?

Two years ago I bought a nice acoustic guitar for $300. I never did learn how to play it because I'm lazy.

It's probably a good idea to buy a cheap acoustic guitar, because mainly, it's cheaper and easier to learn with.
Once you become competent with that, the next step, naturally, is an electric guitar.

oooh. i see. how long have you been playing?

I was SUPPOSED to learn how to play guitar, but I never did. My dad used to play, though, so now he plays a couple of songs sometimes. The guitar looks really cool... I wish I knew how to play but I don't think I have enough patience to learn.

If you haven't got $300 or $400 to buy a guitar, I would buy one used at like a thrift shop or something and that way if you decide the guitar isn't your thing- you wouldn't lose as much money. I can't believe I recommended saving money! I spend money like crazy and I'm recommending going the cheaper way. I must have a fever or something.

Back to the subject though. InspectorExstead, I bet you would make a great guitar player. I hope you find a good guitar soon so you can start practicing songs on it. :)

Dude, the guitar ****ing rocks. I've been playing since I was like....13, except I didn't really play until recently.....It took me awhile to memorize just a FEW chords and notes, but I don't have any musical talent, so that's probs why. I did that **** on my own, and now I'm taking lessons. Dude, they suck. I went on Tuesday for awhile with this chick who was saving money for college or some **** like that. She charged $18 bux an hour. I was like "Dude, that's a little much don't u think? (my parents weren't going to pay....I think it had something to do with the fact that I just HAD to play the saxophone a few years before, and I threw it across the room when I didn't get a note right....I wasn't too chill then.)" So anywayz, after a few minutes of "sweet talking" this creep, she reduced it to $12. But now, I go to a professional music store in town and they're only $8. But I can play a few Doors songs now, so that's cool. Oh, Anywayz, I started with an acoustic, and I just got a B.C. Rich Virgin. It's pretty decent. It was like, $550 or something. I think the electric is "easier" but whatever man.
