In the ep "Barney and Thelma Lou Pfttttt" that ep was so sweet when Gomer thought Thel was in love with Gomer!
I also liked it when he had Skippy as his date in the dance.

Another old topic, but I'd say Skippy is the girl for Gomer. Then Gomer met LouAnn Poovie and they just worked so well together. Too bad they weren't married in 'Return to Mayberry'.
