If you look at kids programming today you will see that many kids today aren't watching TV as much as they used to. Why may you ask?. When you get the general picture the cartoons and kids oriented shows aren't made as good as the kids programming of years ago and if you look at kids TV shows and cartoons today they are usually meant to sell toys based on the cartoon or show. But back in the day kids had a variety of kids shows and cartoons to watch and even with educational programming being introduced the TV became a classroom and most kids watched educational programming because kids would learn stuff. But in the 90's when people complained about children learning violence from shows such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers I think that really hurt the popularity of kids TV. But I watched Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a kid and I never learned violent things or did violent things from it. But if you look at kids TV the main trend is bullying safety because if you look at kids shows they will have a disclaimer saying that the show will have bullying in it and is not suitable for some kids. But I think the actual reason behind kids TV viewership is because of streaming shows becoming very popular and kids seem more interested in IPods and Youtube rather than TV and kids TV will disappear in the near future
