Always heard about the show and just assumed it was an old corny show, but i have been watching on antenna tv and enjoying it very much, yes the mother and father are overly perfect but the kids are very accurate they really are like kids then and even now and the writing is very good.

When it comes to the parents, Margaret is more believable than Jim. She'll lose her temper, she'll yell at the kids. She crawls around with the vacuum and looks like one would look when doing housework.

That show was a little before my time, but I'm guessing it was similar to other family shows of that era such as Ozzie and Harriet and Leave it to Beaver.
