Mrs. C and Joanie helped Mother Kelp, Mrs. C's mother, move out of her house. Meanwhile, Mr. C, Fonzie, Chachi, and Roger play poker.

so why do they have a confrotation with mother kelp.

Mother Kelp, who has pretty much been harassing Marion ever since she married Howard, has Joanie and Marion over one weekend to help her have a yardsale because she's selling her house. Joanie accidentally sells on old vase that has been in the family for ages, and Marion, terrified that her mother will blame her for it, goes door to door and ends up paying a large amount of money (I forget exactly how much) to buy the vase back, only to have her mother say "That was an ugly vase anyway, who asked you to do that??" Marion flips, throws the vase and starts to leave but then comes back and has a heart to heart with her mother, in which it turns out that the reason her mother is such a witch to her is because she feels like Marion doesn't need her anymore. Marion tells her she will always need her, and they hug and make up.
