Heres an article on the little girl who was kidnapped today.

VALLEY PARK, Mo. (AP) - A body believed to be that of a 6-year-old girl who vanished Friday morning was found in an abandoned glass factory in the afternoon, and police arrested a man who spent the night at her father's home where she was staying.

Cassandra Williamson was reported missing Friday morning from her father's home in suburban St. Louis. Her body was found late Friday afternoon at the factory a few blocks away after a search that went door-to-door in her neighborhood.

St. Louis County Police Chief Ron Battelle said the body had not been identified, "but we feel certain it is her."

Battelle said an autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death; he did not describe the condition of the body.

Battelle said Johnny Johnson, 24, was arrested and was cooperating with police; charges had not yet been filed. Johnson spent the night at a home shared by Cassandra's father, Ernie Williamson and a roommate, the father said.

Ernie Williamson and Cassandra's mother, Angela Williamson, had separated but still spent some nights together at a neighbor's home, where Ernie Williamson had been staying for about a week. Thursday night, the entire family stayed at the home — Ernie and Angela Williamson and their four children.

Police described Johnson as a local transient who sometimes slept in the factory. Ernie Williamson said he had only known Johnson a few days and that his roommate and Johnson were up late drinking the night before. He said Johnson was sleeping on the couch Friday morning.

Authorities said Cassandra was in the kitchen around 7:30 a.m. with her father. Williamson said he was about to pour his daughter a bowl of cereal and left the room briefly to go the bathroom. When he returned, the girl, barefoot and dressed in a white nightgown, was gone.

The father said he also noticed that Johnson was gone. About a half-hour later, Williamson said, Johnson returned to the house, wet and muddy, and said he had been swimming in the nearby river. Police began questioning him soon after he returned.

Before the body was found, Cassandra's mother, Angela, said, "She never walks off without telling me she's going somewhere. She doesn't even go to her friend's house without telling me she was going. I just want my baby."

As word of the disappearance spread, volunteers began joining in the search, which also included helicopters and bloodhounds. Many were looking around an area along the Meramec River, which runs through Valley Park in southwest St. Louis County.

Several cases of child abductions involving young girls have been in the news in recent weeks.

This is such a tragedy. I don't know whats up with society now. I think such a story influences others to do stuff. Look at the reaction with school shootings. You had all that little copy cat crap and now you have child kidnappings and molestation. It's really making me sick. What is this? We've had 3 kidnappings in 3 days straight or something like that. It's just sad.

I agree. This breaks my heart, & I don't understand why horrible things like this happen to children!!! I watched this story on the news & couldn't believe how fast it happened. She was just missing this morning. It is so sad! That poor little girl :( (cries)

This just scares the hell (sorry, TJ) out of me. I have 3 nieces and nephews... ages 8, 4, and 2. The youngest one, Jessie, loves people and would probably walk off with anyone.

This is so sad. She's so adorable. I just thought I'd add something I read on AOL news...

"Cassandra, who would have been a first-grader in the fall, had been chosen as the kindergartner to represent a new generation and launch a handful of balloons as part of a Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at school, said Valley Park School District spokeswoman Barbara Roux.

''She was thrilled. She just wanted to do it perfectly,'' Roux said. ''She kept asking, 'Am I standing right?' She just wanted it to be perfect, and she was perfect.''

I'm going to be really pissed off if the person who killed her had molestation charges filed against him before, but wasn't in prison for it. It makes me so angry to think about how many people can just get away with it. Why aren't these people in prison?!?!? Sure, prisons would get really full, but just make some new ones!!! It's completely unnecessary to spend billions of tax dollars on one damn prison! These people are supposedly being punished... sure spend money to make it safe so that they can't escape, but there's lots of "luxuries" that these prisoners can do without. Why isn't every child molester locked up? For example, Samantha Runnion... if that man had been locked up when he first did something only a year(?) before, she'd still be alive. Something seriously needs to be done to keep child molestors off the streets... hell, even castrate them if need be! I'm sure that would keep them from doing anything again.

...Ok, I'm done ranting.

Well I'll be damned... This is what, like the 4th or 5th case in the past 3 weeks? I heard about this this morning. I cannot believe it. That's so horrible. From her own house... :( I'm glad they got the man though. He deserves death.

My Lord, I'm honestly petrified now. I'm only 13. I may not be 5, 6, or 7, but about 10 years ago, there was a card shop in Agawam, MA. This guy went in and abducted the female clerk who was in her 20's or 30's. He stabbed and killed her. I mean, age doesn't even matter now. You can call me petrified, but I'm sticking to adults like glue.

Is there like a group sending people to kidnap kids? Because latley this has been like out of conrtol... This is scary it seems now people can't even walk out of their home without some evil bastard waiting, and with this case she wasn't even out of the house! Some sick **** that bastard is, he had no right to take such a cute little girl and take her life away for NO reason at all, it's sick that people don't even have to know people to kill them. What's the point of killing them, what pleasure, just to go to prison for 50 years?

This is so sad. As others have pointed out, there seems to have been a number of these cases in the news recently. There is a lot of evil in this world.

That makes it so much sadder what you posted. I feel the same way that you do about it. It's so ridiculous when someone that does something so bad, could walk away scot free. Sad...

I feel soo sorry for that little girl and her family right now. I cant believe this is still happening! Why wont these *******s stop it? I dont get it. What is the pleasure in taking someone against their will and murdering them? Can someone explain that to me?

OK, this is going to sound very self-centered right now, but who else is scared for themselves? I know that I am. I have always been, but more now than ever.

AliciaKeysforever: You are not being self-centered for feeling this way. It's perfectly understandable that you, as well as others, are feeling scared for themselves. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sick people in this world.

Pray for the family of this little girl, and for others who have been victimized in this horrible manner.
