From the 70's to the 80's Wrigley's Doublemint Gum had a smart way to market commercials for the gum. Using a pair of twins known as The Doublemint Twins and it really helped Wrigley's sell a lot of gum. The original actresses who were picked to play the Doublemint Twins were first seen in the 70's and then replaced by the Sagal Twins from the sitcom Double Trouble then in the 90's the actresses who portrayed the Wakefield Twins from the short-lived Sweet Valley High TV series played the Doublemint Twins for a short time. While no longer seen on Doublemint Gum commercials The Doublemint Twins are easily one of the most popular iconic stars of retro commercials today
