An I Love Lucy St. Patty’s Day:
(Lucy & Ethel and the rest of the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League are in the Ricardos house.)
Lucy: “Good afternoon ladies and thank you all for agreeing to have this meeting in our home in Connecticut. We now need money for our club. We need some entertainment for our St. Patty’s Day benefit.”
(Marion Strong gets up.)
Lucy: “The chair recognizes Marion Strong.”
Marion: “Why don’t we ask Ricky and his band to perform for nothing?”
Lucy: “Yeah why not? He would love it. I’ll call him at the club.”
(She does.)
Ricky: “Hello?”
Lucy: “Hello Ricky our club is meeting now.”
Ricky: “Oh, you mean the Wednesday Afternoon Fang & Claw Society?”
Lucy: “Yes and we need entertainment for our benefit and I said that you and your band would perform for free.”
Ricky (yells): “WHAT?”
(Ricky starts yelling in Spanish.)
Lucy: “Goidbye dear.”
(Lucy does.)
Lucy: “Plan B. I got an idea. I know a singer who sounds like my husband and looks like him. Let’s get him and his band and dress them up like St. Patrick. We will be so lucky.”
(At the benefit, the girls are dressed to the teeth while the Ricky Ricardo look-a-like sings. The people are enjoying themselves.)
Lucy: “Looks like we are performing a fast one Ethel. Look at all the money we are making. This is our pot of gold.”
(Ricky & Fred arrive at the benefit. Word gets out about the girls idea but the girls don’t know about it. People start storming up to them.)
Man (yells): “WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK. THAT GUY IS A FRAUD. I JUST SAW THE REAL RICKY RICARDO AT THE FRONT DOIR.”
(The girls look nervous.)
Lucy: “No, you see sir that guy at the door is a fake.”
(Cops cone. The girls get more nervous.)
Ethel: “Lucy.”
Lucy: “That guy at the door is a fake.”
(Cop turns to Ricky.)
Cop: “Are you the real Ricky?”
Ricky: “Yes I am.”
Lucy (yells): “RICKY!”
Ricky (yells): “LUCY, YOY GOT SOME SPLAININ ‘ TO DO.”
Cop: “You and your club are arrested for fraud.”
(The girls get arrested.)
Lucy: “Guys and gals, I’m sorry. Ricky? Do something. Ricky.”
(Ricky does nothing.)
Lucy: “What bad luck on St. Patty’s Day.”
(Lucy cries.)
