He (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0237341/) died right after writing the Emily Dickinson (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0575340/reference/) episode from Season 1. For the remainder of the first season, didn't there appear to be pallor over it? And did the flaws in the writing get worse after seemingly starting OK for what it was?

For one thing, the episodes focusing on the other girls lacked snap. And even Molly Ringwald's character, other than the one episode with her father rarely got much to do except speak quotes the writers fished out of Ms. Magazine. Also, the class differences between Blair and Sue Ann just weren't as strong as those between Blair and Jo

Molly had quite a few lines in both Adoption and Running. There was quite a few good episodes in Season 1B. Dope, Running, Adoption, Flash Flood, Dieting.

I prefer Sue Ann over Jo and her crime family.
