Considering the apparent rise of cynicism. What I mean is that we're talking about a show that on face-value, was about three presumably heterosexual men taking care of three young girls.
When Full House first came on the air in 1987, there's no internet and in all likelihood, little political correctness. Quite frankly, would people now be quicker to second guess men without a woman becoming good caregivers without suspicion. I'm not for the moment going to go into what type of suspicion because it's not entirely appropriate to discuss too deeply here, so I'll just leave it up to your imagination.
And yes, we did get Fuller House, where instead of three men talking care of three kids while living under the same roof, we had three women (DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy) talking care of three kids while under the same roof.
But with that being said, would the original Full House still succeed if it was on a major network like ABC if it came out some 20 years later? Would it thrive more on an outlet like Hallmark or UP TV, where its wholesome and decidedly saccharine and cheesy programming would fit more at home?
