Plot holes and characters acting out of the norm tank Tribes
When looking at "NCIS" ratings on IMDb, it's clear to see the show enjoys a moderate amount of critical success. Each episode garners hundreds of ratings from fans, and for the most part, it's tough to find any episodes that dip below 7.5/10. That's what makes Season 5, Episode 11, "Tribes," (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1151139/?ref_=ttep_ep11) so uncharacteristically low with its average rating of 7.4/10. It's the weakest out of any episode in its season, and after reading some of the reviews, it's easy to see why.
One user, who gave the episode a 5.0/10 overall, wrote, "It would seem that the writers were lazier than usual this time. Plot holes concerning medical procedures, investigative procedures and interrogation procedures (among others) make for a low rating by this reviewer." They weren't alone in their assessment of plot holes. Another user pointed out, "Zika, who never uses contractions, says It's and I'm when talking to Tony about the movie she is watching early in the episode."
It appears fans thought "Tribes" was a step down compared to the usual quality of "NCIS." Fortunately, seeing how the rest of the season is rated relatively high, that dip didn't last long.
