I should have been more clear. Google sent me a link to Wynwood Tattoo Studios even on this very Website! When I wasn't looking up anything related to Tattoos at all! Google also sent me a link to another Tattoo Studio on a Website that I wasn't even looking up Tattoos!

So, are they harassing you via e-mail? Or are they just bombarding you with ads (here, fir example) based upon your search history?

I use an adblocker called "u-block origin", and it's pretty good. Set it up once and forget about it. Which is one of the things I like about it, compared to the blockers that continually nag you to adjust your preferences.

I got ads telling me about Wynwood Tattoo Studio. Even after I deleted the Axl Rose Tattoos inquiry from Google. And I JUST found out I still had Axl Rose Tattoos in my ACTUAL history. I deleted the Axl Rose Tattoos history itself, and the Wynwood Tattoo Studio ad FINALLY went away. 😀

This is an extremely bizarre take. You can hate tattoos all you want, but to call them "evil" is just silly. I don't have any tattoos but I considered getting my best friend who passed away's handwriting tattooed on me. Is that "evil?" :rolleyes:

As I mentioned earlier, I use a fairly effective ad blocker. So for the most part I am blissfully ignorant of what might be going on.

However, a couple years ago I was shopping online for a digital, handheld sound recorder, and I searched several sources...over a period of days.

Then, about a week later I was at my local public library, using their public access computers. Everything was fine....until I logged onto a forum that I regularly used. And was immediately besieged with offers for hand held digital sound recorders. Not just there at that site, but every where else that I surfed for the remainder of that computer session.

Now what that actually means is kinda spooky. There obviously was some sort of data collection going on in the background, sharing my participation At a variety of locations ...with at least one "central authority"..... Amazon, or Google, or perhaps some other cult of common interest.

But there was no doubt in my mind that I had been "made", and that it would be child's play for such an empowered entity to know that the person using that public library terminal that day, was the same person who had shopped for handheld sound recorders from my home IP address a week earlier .

Now, maybe it's true what they say, that my actual identity is of no importance to them...only my shopping interests and preferences are what they "harvest"

But, it would sure be easy for them to change that, without my ever knowing. And that would leave me just one "smart phone synch" away from them being able to draw a map of everywhere I traveled, every day..

Sometimes you can turn it around and use that to your advantage. I wanted to get our mortgage payment down, but didn't really want to go to a different mortgage company, so I purposely did a search on refinancing with some other companies. A few days later, we get an offer from our mortgage company for a lower monthly payment.

I'm not a Fan of Tattoos either, I was just curious about Axl Rose's Tattoos. There was an article somewhere warning Terms to not get Tattoos. It said something like,"To Teens thinking about getting Tattoos, Tattoos are PERMENANT. Think about when your 40 year old self doesn't care about K-Pop anymore." REALLY good advice."

Personally, I would never get a tattoo. But that being said, there are good tattoos, and there are bad tattoos.

Some of the better ones can be impressive, from purely an art perspective.

But I do find amusement in seeing some of the really bad tattoos that people are actually proud of. Some that look like they were done with a bottle of ink from office depot and a hat pin, and you wonder why that person wears short sleeves?
