Thanks for sharing, the table scene is so funny. I suspect this happened before Edna Garrett came to life

Yep. IMDB says Hair was filmed in October 1977 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079261/locations?ref_=tt_dt_loc), while DS started in 1978. Ironically, viewers would meet Mrs. Garrett before they would meet "Lady in Pink".

It's been years since I've seen this clip. I'd really forgotten it. Charlotte's song, "My Conviction", was cut from the film, but still appeared on the soundtrack album. Here it is.

Yes, Charlotte singing in "Hair" was unfortunately snipped off and relegated to the cutting room floor. She talks about that downer in her book. :read:

At least by the time the film was released, she had a new job, talking care of three kids in a Manhattan penthouse.

Thanks for sharing. Two years of post-production? Seems like a long period for a movie

No, she doesn't do tables!

"I don't do windows and I don't do boys"

Mrs. Garrett, working for an all-girls school since the pilot episode of DS

It definitely is... I mean, it's more common for big-budget CGI movies, these days, but it was almost unheard of in the 1970s.

"I don't do windows and I don't do boys"

You got the reference!

Mrs. Garrett, working for an all-girls school since the pilot episode of DS

True to her very first episode of DS!

I didn't think an old movie required 2 years of post-production

I didn't expect that from Mrs. Garrett. Florence would have said something like that to Mr. Jefferson

Yeah, especially from an old movie like "Hair". Post-production usually takes one year/a year and a half

True to her very first episode of DS!

NBC knew what to do with her from the very beginning
