You think it’s time for a Loverboy renaissance, don’t you?

When I saw this thread title I thought of the movie LOVERBOY (1989) until I saw what base it is on..

I was big Loverboy fan, can't count the times I danced to Turn Me Loose at The Waterworks and Showdowns. They played Loverboy between the live band sets at those clubs.

"why don't you turn me loose, turn me loose, turn me loose.... I gotta do it my way... or no way at all." I can't believe I remember this!

I was never really a huge fan of Loverboy back in their heyday. Just a little too far towards the "glam" end of the spectrum for my tastes.

But in 2003 they just happened to be playing in a nightclub I went to meet some friends at. and they were surprisingly good. Their wives and girlfriends served as their opening act, and was a Led Zeppelin cover band.

All in all, I was shocked in realizing as I was leaving, that I had a good time.

I like everything they did with the exception of "Working for the Weekend." The only reason I despise it is because the radio stations in this market seem to think it's the only song they ever recorded. You might hear "Lovin' Every Minute of it" If you're awake at 4am but that's about it.

This is easily my favorite Loverboy song....
