I get that the intent was to have Cory ostensibly be that show's equivalent to Mr. Feeny (as well as Alan) from the original show, but wouldn't it be in reality, a major conflict (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1_iWcPIAbA&lc=Ugydr7HmKcxywLsSWi14AaABAg) of interest for a teacher to have one of his or her kids as their students? Not even for one year would or should something like that be feasible.

I agree- and Cory didn't even TRY to avoid showing favoritism to Riley who called him 'Dad' instead of 'Mr. Matthews' like virtually every other member of her class. Yeah, I know Maya called him 'Matthews' which I loathed since he was her teacher (who'd done her many favors down the years and her bestie's father) instead of her nothing flunky!

I have to agree. Sometimes favoritism isn't even the problem. The child instead could end up getting the exact opposite just to show that there isn't any favoritism, and in my opinion, that is not fair either.

The classroom scenes in general, where a big problem (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/sw08cj/just_finished_boy_meets_world_and_my_views_on/) with Girl Meets World. It appeared that a lot of the drama happened in the classroom, where Maya or Riley would talk in the middle of class like they're the only people that matter.

On Boy Meets World, they might bring something up in the classroom but they would always talk more about it in the hallway. Mr. Fenny unlike Cory would've never let his students run roughshod in his classroom like we saw on GMW.
