Wasn't it clever? KERA, the Dallas PBS affiliate that brought MPFC to the US, played Reggie on Sunday nights as part of their Brit Com lineup. It was a great way to end the week.

They did a remake, "Reggie Perrin" about ten years ago with Martin Clunes. I found it amusing but not near the original.

The original seemed to get quite a bit of play in the US at one time, but then it faded away.

I remember ABC's Americanization attempt with Richard Mulligan in 83 or so. Didn't dig it.

The original series aired again in Dallas I think in the early 90s but you're right, it hasn't gotten the repeated airings many others have. At least I didn't notice if it did.

The original was on Channel 13 (PBS) in New York, uncut with no commercials. I don't remember exactly when, but I'd guess the early or mid 1980's.
