With airing the Super Bowl for the first time in their history the following February FOX labeled the 96-97 season a Super Season. Unfortunately they didn't learn from NBC decades prior that using the slogan "Super Season" doesn't work and all but curses your schedule and in the case of NBC for almost a decade curses the network. FOX ratings dropped by 15% along with losing successful long running series Married W/ Children and Martin while their hit soaps begin to decline in ratings. But in good news The X Files would skyrocket in popularity thanks in part to being aired after said Super Bowl. Me being bored and honestly a fan of the song that came along with the video campaign for the season I thought why not revisit this "Super Season" and make my own slightly tweaked version of it. You guys are welcome to crap all over it in the comments.

Overall, I don't see any major issues with this fantasy schedule, other than King of the Hill being slotted in the fall while it was actually a midseason replacement in real life. One question would be raised: Would this have saved Married... with Children? And maybe Martin?

Married... with Children was definitely treated badly by FOX-TV during its 11th season with those timeslot changes, and was screwed out of a proper farewell episode at the end. Tuesdays wouldn't be such a bad idea – except it would've meant putting MwC up against Home Improvement and Frasier. In a last-ditch effort to save MwC and improve its ratings, the programs on the Tuesdays at 8 and 9 would be swapped at midseason, so MwC and Love & Marriage would be at 8, and Ned and Stacey and Party Girl would be at 9. Roseanne's final season and Mad About You wouldn't be as big of a threat to MwC.

Also, if it weren't for the backstage conflict with Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell, could Martin still have ended after season 5, or would it have somehow gotten a sixth season?

Great feedback! For MWC a 12th and properly promoted final season I would do considering how that show helped built the network. I assumed Roseanne was at 9 so in that case yes I would flip it, don't want any problems with Tim Allen.

As far as Martin that show died once his relationship with Tisha imploded so I would end it after the fifth season still. One of the episodes in that same season did featured a backdoor pilot for a spin off with Tichina Arnold (Pam). I likely would greenlight it bring the other characters from the show outside of Martin and Tisha, with possible cameos from them. Then place it on the schedule next season alongside Living Single.
