On one of the Newsradio episodes I saw I noticed that it was Khandi Alexander's last episode and the exit of the character Catherine Duke and I would like to know why Khandi left Newsradio? Was Khandi Alexander offered another sitcom at the time or was she really unhappy at Newsradio? I noticed at the end of the episode that it had a nice good luck message for Khandi

I think she was offered a role on CSI: Miami.

I think she was offered a role on CSI: Miami.

That would've been impossible since NewsRadio ended in 1999 while CSI: Miami (https://www.distractify.com/p/why-did-khandi-alexander-leave-csi-miami) wouldn't debut until the year 2002.

See "NewsRadio" and "ER" Star Khandi Alexander Now at 64 (https://bestlifeonline.com/newsradio-er-khandi-alexander-now-news/#:~:text=She's%20still%20working%E2%80%94and%20garnering%20awards%20attention.&text=Alexander%20chose%20to%20leave%20NewsRadio,she%20told%20Reuters%20in%202010.)

She's still working—and garnering awards attention. Alexander chose to leave (https://www.filmboards.com/board/p/2147510/) NewsRadio (https://tvobsessive.com/2020/03/25/the-real-deal-the-no-rules-comedy-genius-of-newsradio/) in 1998, fearing being typecast (https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/62187/21-things-you-might-not-know-about-newsradio) for playing comedic roles. "I knew, in order to open up my career, I had to leave or that's all I would ever be given," she told Reuters in 2010.
