At least, what was supposedly "cool" (https://web.archive.org/web/20140417055011/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/1823519-full-house/page-131#entry5978876) in the late '80s-mid '90s, which was the time frame for which Full House was originally on the air. Take for instance, Jesse, who is presumed to be hip, irreverent, rebellious character (I suppose sort of a Gen-X variation of The Fonz) and yet, Elvis Presley, writes cheeseball bubblegum pop, and wears a leather jacket sometimes.

I'm not saying that listening to Elvis in reality, doesn't make you "cool", it's just that for a supposedly young, edgy, and hip guy like Jesse, his character does come across as a bit of a walking anachronism. Was Elvis even still considered rebellious in the late '80s/'90s.
