Take a tour of the house from The Andy Griffith Show and a tour of the Mayberry Courthouse! We grew to love the characters from the show - Andy Griffith as Andy Taylor, Ron Howard as Opie and Don Knotts as Barney Fife, Frances Bavier as Aunt Bee, plus Floyd, Gomer and Otis. But, we also loved the home and the whole town of Mayberry. We'll explore their home as if it were a real life house. Come walk the streets of Mayberry! Includes and interview with Clint Howard, who played Leon on the show. Also, includes a surprise bonus Mayberry tour at the end. If you love the country farmhouse style, you'll love this home tour. If you classic TV, especially TV homes, if you love design - you'll love this channel.

I have viewed a few of this woman's videos and always find them interesting. She certainly puts a great deal of effort into them. I think she made a mistake in trying to cover too many elements in this one video. The house tour was great but as we all know the courthouse is a very difficult read and is probably better left to the imagination. There are practical issues, where are the facilities for the prisoners, where do Barney and Andy relieve themselves? Also, the Mayor's office is located above the jail, wouldn't his office have to be accessible from the front entrance. In "The Big House" Andy, Barney and Gomer are on the roof of the courthouse, where are the stairs? We all know about the various issues about the window locations in the jail cells, too much that can't be explained.

The geometry of cell #2 (Otis' cell) has always been a curiosity of mine. Particularly when they put two cots in it for "Arrest of the Fun Girls".

Apparently, there was at least a sink in the back room of the courthouse since Andy and Barney were able to make coffee. And in "Barney and the Choir", Barney went back there to wash up before eating lunch. I guess we have to assume there was a toilet in the back room and also toilets in the cells, though not visible. I doubt anyone figured we would be analyzing these things 60+ years later.

In the colored era, was the county clerk's (Howard) office upstairs above the courthouse, as well?

Ground floor.

21st century flat screen TV in Opie's room.

I'd also like to know where the stairs are to the second floor of the courthouse. Also on her tour of the 2nd floor of the Taylor house, I wanted to see where the stairs emerged on the 2nd floor.

She's right, any set that wasn't used frequently was subject to change from episode to episode, or season to season.

I watched that "Return to Mayberry" movie for the first time ever, last night. And it appears that much of the downtown storefronts were different vs how I recall them from the B&W era of TAGS.

I also noticed that when I watched the movie a while back. The original "Mayberry" was long gone, so they had to film it elsewhere.

The mayor's office was on the second floor of the courthouse, but apparently there was no access between floors from within the building, which was strange. The exterior shots of the front of the courthouse do not show any entrance/stairway to the second floor. So apparently it must have been accessed from the side.

In the early TAGS episodes, there was a door in the courthouse to the left of cell #2 (the cell on the left). In later episodes, the door was gone. What was behind that door? A closet? Stairway to second floor? Access to alley between courthouse and Floyd's barber shop? Of course we never see an alley from the street, it appears that the buildings are adjoined.

Ground floor.

I've wondered if perhaps Howard's office and so on we're in the upstairs area above the barber shop and so on?

Stairs and parking lot in the back of the Courthouse, and a hallway from the Mayor's office to the other offices.

Possibly there's stairs near the side door of the Courthouse?

The area outside the jail cell windows is always on my mind, how can this work?

Obviously, Floyd's barber shop is small, and opens to a courtyard which the jail cells look out to.

I need to watch the episode again, but anyone remember Floyd mentioning a rose garden or something like that located behind his shop?
