Personally, I really liked my early childhood. I was blessed to have a relatively carefree childhood, and I think the 1980s were a great time to be a little kid.

However, I think the 90s were a rather lackluster time to be a teenager. I would have loved to have been a teenager in the late 60s. I would have been such a hippie, and gone to Woodstock, and all of that! Of course maybe I'd be paying for it later in some way, you just never know! Also if that were the case, I'd be in my 30s for the 80s, and I think the 80s would have annoyed me as an adult. But whatever. This is not something I dwell on, but as late 60s early 70s music is my fav., whenever I listen to those albums I think about how much fun it would have been to be around back then.

I am pretty happy with the decade I grew up in. I was born in 1983 so I was a kid in the 80's and a teen in the 90's.

The 1980s were I think the best decade for children's entertainment---particularly cartoon and children's shows. I was born in '78, and wouldn't trade it for anything. :)

The 80's would have been cool to grow up in because of my favorite shows but I then I would be in my 20s now... and I don't want to be. Being 15 is cool. I'm fine with having grown up in the 90s.

The 80s but I still like the fact that I'm growing up in the 90s.

I wouuld have to go with the 80's. Better shows were on-i mean like sitcoms and the cars seemed to be better. I would be in my twenties if i grew up then and I wouldnt mind it- Id in college and have my own car and my own place. But I still got to wait a few years before that happens.

It's something I can't change, so I've never really thought about it. I guess the time I grew up in was ok..I was born in the middle 80s & I liked that time, but when the 90s came, there were family problems & stuff. I didn't like the 90s.

this decade. weve got so much more technilogical ****. Or the 70's. I could do drugs and no one wuld care.

I grew-up during the 70s, and I cannot think of a better decade to have grown up in. The television shows were great, the cartoons were also great.......But what I loved most about the 70s, was the music......Everytime I hear a song from that decade, it brings back fond memories of what I was doing during that period. No other decade touches me like the 70s. That decade produced some of the best song writers in history. In there was a wide range of music that I found appealing during the 70s.

Well, I was a "child of the 80s" and i dunno, I think I would have prefered being a child in either....

-the 1950s (stereotypical, yes, but the music, the early tv shows, gotta love it)

-the 1930s (so i could have seen GWTW in theaters when it first came out....or been an extra in the movie... then I would have wanted to be a USO girl in the 40s....)

-the 1850s, early 1860s (so id be old enough to leave the country and live in europe during the civil war! two words for why- hoop skirts! those things are awesome...and i wouldnt have to worry about what to do later in life- all you had to do was get married.)

- the 1780s, post revolutionary war when the nation was just getting started, i dunno, im into that era in history so it would be really cool to witness it.

I would like to have grown-up in the 50's. Life seemed simple.

The 50's or 60's. I didn't like being a teenager in the 80's.

I'm happy with this decade. But I also think it would be interesting if I grew up in the future... hmm..imagine how things would be then.

I was born in '82 and I had a brilliant childhood growing up in the 80's. I wouldn't change it for the world!
Things didn't really start going wrong for me untill about '96.
The 80's were the best years of my life!!

There's a 'Twilight Zone' eppy called 'A Stop in Willoughby' (I think that's it)...that shows a man who boards a train, and ends up at the turn of the LAST century! Around 1900.

It shows a quaint small town...kids fishing and band concerts in the park. That's where I wanna be most of the time!

Sure, no internet, TV or SUV's! But you don't miss...what you never had! ;)

I was 14 when Woodstock was going on Inspector! It was a strange time...but it was nice to hear 'peace' all the time, when people actually meant it! Ah...to be a 'groovy' hippie again!

Yeah, actually I would've liked growing up in that time. My mom was also a little kid in the 50's, & a teen in the 60's, & she really loved The Beatles. I would've liked to have been around then to see them when they 1st came on the scene!

I was born 10 years too late. I would have like to have done grade school in the 60's and Jr. and Sr. High School in the 70's

You know, I've always thought decades were sort of clumped together.
Like the 60s and 70s, they go hand in hand.

Much like the 80s and 90s.

That's why I'm happy growing up in the time I did. Born in 85', I remember watching ALF and Magyver, and listening to U2's "Joshua Tree" album, or Madonna's "Like A Prayer". But at the same time, technology goes into overdrive, and slowly, we adapt to these new gadgets, etc. The decades sort of morph into each other, really.

Case in point, I'd say that the "children of the 90s" got some major leftovers from the eighties, which were really prominent when I was a kid.

I mean, we're just as much fond of stuff like "The Goonies" and the "Thriller" music video as any "child of the eighties".

I was born in the late 80s, so i was a child of the 90s. The early 90s were cool beacsue they ahd really neat toys and games, but the later half sucked. I wish I was a kid in the 80s, they had the coolest shows and stuff then. i always tell people I was born 10 years to late.

I grew up in the eighties and I wouldnt change it for anything. Although I have always thought I would have liked to been a teenager in the seventies. I would have been a disco maniac. I was born in 75. The television shows from the eighties were awesome I was a Dukes of Hazzard freak when i was 5. The best Star Wars movies came out in the 80's and Star trek the next generation debuted in 87 definitely a television era. Although I love the Big Brother television shows there are way too many reality tv shows now. Just my take

Agreed I would love to go there and be a teenager abd stuff and hang out with the HD gang, Id like to also goes to the 70s, 80s, 90s and the 200s or whatever you would call t this decade hey i'm in it right now Ba ha ha ha ha!

I have no regrets on my life, born in 1938 and still going pretty strong in 2022, Ups and Downs, but Never stayed down too long to lose my spirit. Loved the music that I grew up with and today's noise/stuff... well I shall keep quiet.

I was born in 1967.

The 1970's was fairly carefree, the Vietnam War was over and now after decades there was no draft that young men had to fear. Films of the 1970's were mostly outstanding, some have dubbed it the "Second Golden Age" of film. I could list so many good movies that came out during this time, but if I started listing them the list would be huge.

This is sitcoms online and I think most people would say that the 1970's was also a Golden Age of television. Back then before cable, most of us at three commercial TV channels plus cable, and we had to wait until our show was on to watch it or miss it entirely. This was also the decade of the original SNL.

Music and especially rock music was incredible in the 1970's

The 1980's was my decade and loved the 1980's. It was the same but different than the 1970's, the technology didnt change much except most of us had cable TV but we mostly watched the three networks. The TV shows of the 1980's were about as good as the 1970's. NBC had Thursday Night "Much see TV".

Movies were also mostly excellent during this time like the 1970's. Tickets for an evening show was $5 which was actually a bit of money then. This was the golden age of shopping malls and teenagers would crowd these places on the weekend for shopping, food and movies. It was also a fun time as a youth. Maybe for adults, not so much. The economy was wavering. What is known now and not so much known back then was how close the World got to WWIII in the 1980's. A Russian general in 1983 took it upon himself to stop a nuclear retaliation on America from faulty technology. US/Soviet relations was very poor, and yes, international Communism was a big thing until 1989 and there was a fear of World War in the back of our minds.

The 1990's? Not much of a fan. I was a young adult then and this decade might have been clouded by the problems I was having in life. To me the 1990's were a "bridge decade" between the "good old days" of the 70's and 80's and the time we have evolved into now. I will say that this was a last good decade of rock, with so called "grundge" bands taking over from the annoying "hair bands". I loved Nirvana. Kurt Cobain was my age and met a bad end. Soundgarten. Who else? I will say that Communism mostly fell in the World and the USSR collapsed which is a good thing. The fall of the Berlin Wall. The opening of democracy and choices for millions of people in Eastern Europe. Too bad China could not have succeeded in overthowing thir government, even though Tiananmen happened in 1989, but even then for many years the Chinese were granted a lot more economic freedom and private enterprise, which now seems to be closing quickly under Xi and the new regime.

I will say I discovered the internet in 1996, one night at a friend's house on his computer and absolutely loved it. Still do although the internet has done many positives and many negatives on our and Global society. Back in the "good old days" we didnt have this. We didnt have Facebook, we didnt have instant messaging to talk and judge other people. But its great now to watch a TV show anytime you want.
