After Colasanto died and was replaced by Woody Harrelson, the hostility continued. Long ultimately quit after the fifth season (https://tvovermind.com/cheers-season-5-worst-season/), and was replaced by Kirstie Alley. So, did the series get better or worse with Rebecca Howe in place of Diane Chambers?
