yep it's been all over the LA news, 2 sisters 16 and 18 headed for Fairfax High school assulted and robbed of their phones. My grandson recently lost his phone and now I'm thinking one of his friends may have stolen it. So many young people trusting the wrong people Maybe...
Anyway, I've NEVER owned a phone etc to carry thru my long life and wonder how I made it? And I wonder if anyone here, probably not, went thru their lives as I have.
I can hear it now, "oh I'd die with no cell phone"" yeah for sure.
Society has been trapped and addicted to all this STUFF.
The most technology I had when I put in my 40 yrs of work was a pager at one sales job, and I so resented it.....
Wild wild world out there....

I only use my cell phone when I am driving in case of emergencies or when my elderly father/work needs me.
And it was terrible what happened to these girls. What a world we live in.

I was just informed that the persons who stole the phones can't use them as they are locked for only the owner....I didn't know that...is it true.

Passwords can be set, or a fingerprint scanner can prevent unauthorized access. The thieves might still be able to sell the phones to gullible people, but even that seems unlikely.

I mainly use my phone for emergencies. Or to call my mom and let her know I'm on my way. I had to upgrade my cell phone because it was old. But now adays everyone or company expects you to have a cell phone. To go to a sporting event or concert it's all paperless. You have to have a cell phone. I use Tracfone, the prepaid carrier. I didn't know a whole lot about using a cell phone, but I realized how fast data gets used up fast.

On another Website, I said that stolen cellphones should blare I'M STOLEN! I'M STOLEN! I'M STOLEN!" Over and over in a constant loop.:crazy: And only the true owner of the cellphone can disable it. A Poster replied something like,"Your idea sounds good in theory, but a Good Samaritan can honestly find your cellphone and want to return it to you, but be hesitant to help out because THEY'LL look like the Thief if the phone blares I'M STOLEN!" Over and over in a constant loop."
