Even though Gordon Page has been missing since 1991, I won't rule out the possibility that he might still be alive. Also, I will say that the chances of him being alive could be 50/50, though I would hate to believe that he could be dead. Eleven years is a long time to go without any clue as to what had become of him.

I like to think he is still alive. I see a scenario where maybe he had a head injury and had amnesia. He couldn't remember his name and had no id on him.

Remember there was an earlier story on a man named Oded Gordon who had autism and disappeared from New Hampshire. Like Gordon Page, Jr. - he probably hitchhiked. He hasn't been found either.

Why wasn't his story aired on AMW?

Man... I HOPE he is alive, but I'm a little more pessimistic. Kane gave a 50/50 probability that he was alive... I'm more 70/30 that he's not. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong. This was one of the more heartwrenching cases profiled on UM, at least for me. I truly hope he is still alive and eventually found, but I don't think it's going to happen.

This is one of the most heartbreaking of all cases in my opinion. :(

I agree. Very sad case. Even sadder was Mr. Page thinking back and regretting that he didn't unlock the van door.

He could be alive, but since he wandered off the chances are likely slim to none especially since there are no recorded sightings of him in recent years. Being a relatively unique looking individual he should be spotted easier than many other missing people.

I still sometimes think about Patricia Snyder Carlton. Over thirty years pass and she is found alive. Her circumstances were similar (though not exact) to the cases of Gordon Page and Oded Gordon.

I thought this story was very sad too.... I felt especially sorry for Gordon because it took so long for him to get properly diagnosed. A friend of mine has a brother who has been through a lot of emotional problems and they are just now starting to realize that he may have a form of autism. He's thirteen or fourteen, i think. I have hope that he could be alive somewhere, but it is doubtful.

The Gordon Page segment deeply touched me in the respect that I could personally relate to Gordon. Being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome myself a few years ago, I felt bad for Gordon in the respect that I know what it feels like when you think the world doesn't understand you or what you have. I wasn't diagnosed myself 'til I was 21. I also felt bad for Gordon Page, Sr. in seeing him regret the decision not to open up the door and let Gordon come home with him to Florida. Gordon probably wanted companionship, but no one understood how at the group home.

My guess is if he is high-functioning, he may have little trouble facing the world on his own if he is knowledgeable enough to hold down a menial job, say as a ranchhand or the like. My worry would concern his social skills, though, in attaining employment or shelter. He would not know how to approach people for his basic needs. He could be alive somewhere or he coud've faded away somewhere. My hope of course is that he is alive somewhere and that he has mastered some life skills.

If he knew his parents names, his brothers names or his name, why wouldn't someone pick up on that, though? Sad. I hope whereever he is, he is at peace. Very sad segment, indeed. I have this one on tape.

I personally think Gordon wanted to hitchhike to Florida to find his family. Or, as the show stated, to visit his brother away at college in Texas since a person matching his description was seen hitchhiking in the direction of Interstate 96. We don't know if he just ran away or was trying to find his family.
