In 1996 to honor it's release of the new McDouble burger deal McDonald's used a clever idea to sell it. The result? A guy named Eddie The Echo and he made his commercial debut with the McDouble commercial. Eddie The Echo who seems to look like actor Josh Gad earned his nickname because he would repeat everything twice and proved to be one of the biggest stars in the history of McDonald's and went on to be featured in lots of McDonald's commercials and somehow became a celebrity in commercials. But of course like all celebrities Eddie The Echo retired in 1997 and to honor his farewell McDonald's released a series of Eddie The Echo collector cups featuring photos from Eddie's McDonald's commercials. Eddie The Echo is one of the least talked about commercial stars and McDonald's sure had a lot of effort designing these commercials
