Pam doesn't support Jim's career aspirations

In Season 9 of "The Office," Jim gets the opportunity to start a sports marketing firm Athlead, an idea he had in college. In the premiere, Jim and Pam reveal that Jim passes on the chance to become a partner in the business that was his idea because the job would mean the family would have to relocate to Philadelphia. Jim secretly takes the job anyway, though he eventually comes clean and begins to split his time between Scranton and Philly. Pam tries to act supportive but begins resenting him being away so often, which strains their marriage.

Many fans of the show have a strong negative reaction to Pam's behavior and took to Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/DunderMifflin/comments/8z5t4o/why_i_think_pam_was_the_worst/) to rant about her selfish behavior. "I got pretty annoyed with Pam towards the end because I thought she was being pretty hypocritical by not supporting Jim with his dreams when he always stood by her side and supported her with her art school, and when she quit to go work with Michael back in the day, etc.," wrote u/arepskamp (https://www.reddit.com/r/DunderMifflin/comments/8z5t4o/comment/e2gcmqc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). Even before Jim and Pam officially become a couple, Jim encourages Pam to participate in a graphic design training program offered by the company. Jim puts his plan to propose on hold so Pam can pursue an arts program in New York and encourages her to stay and retake a class she fails.

"This is a huge and exciting opportunity for Jim, one that she should be super excited about, she even talks about how she hopes he finds something great to do with his life back in some of the first episodes, yet when push comes to shove she refuses to support her husband!" stated u/bnasty13 (https://www.reddit.com/r/DunderMifflin/comments/8z5t4o/why_i_think_pam_was_the_worst/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). Pam redeems herself in the series finale by telling Jim she's ready to relocate to Austin, the site of Athlead's new headquarters, but it's hard not to believe she's influenced by seeing her bad behavior play out in the docuseries once it airs.
