Are the ‘views’ numbers by each thread actual people looking in, or can search bots inflate the total? Bearing in mind that I’m not quite sure what a search bot is, so I may be using the term incorrectly here.

In the Active Users list I'll occasionally see Google Spiders and Bing Spiders. I would guess if they're considered "users" they would also count towards the view total.

On alot of sites the view count is not updated as they come in because its more load on the server..... Most VBB sites update view counts every 20 mins or so......

I think it depends on the bot. Some are able to scan the content of a page without actually registering a view. The bot may only visit a thread once every 6 months or so.

The views are updated every 60 minutes.
