I never understood in Junk Yard Dog why they needed a shop and Wilton Knight's original team of specialists to fix K.I.T.T.

Yet in Knight of the Juggernaut they were able to repair (and upgrade) K.I.T.T. in a warehouse with just Bonnie, RC3 and his street homies.
